DEPARTMENT EVENTS
EDITORIAL TALK
Dear Readers,
It gives me an immense
pleasure to bring this volume of
Electronics and Communication
Engineering of KCT's newsletter.
It has been a long vacation for
both the students and faculty
members with very limited activities in the department.
However, the department is in the process of re-
engineering the various activities to better administer
and improve the overall performance of the department.
The regular classes for the odd semester of the 2017-18
academic year start from 18.07.2017 for the 2nd year
with one-day department immersion program so as to
provide awareness of various opportunities available in
and off the department. For third and final year students,
classes will commence from 19.07.2017.
In fact, it is one of the crucial years for the final
year students to get placed in the campus interview
during this economic slowdown, challenges of
automation and lack of new manufacturing initiatives in
Tamilnadu and India. Although we have provided
rigorous placement training to the final year students, it
is anticipated that the mass recruiters such as CTS,
Accenture may restrict their campus recruitment.
Despite the fact that the core industries provide low
salary and recruits very few, it is need of the hour for us
to bring more numbers of core industries to place our
students. Moreover, it is mandated to equip our third
year students with the knowledge of both basic and
recent technological advancement blended with
necessary skills to be employed in core engineering
industries. We are confident that our students will
perform better in placement activities and also bring
laurels to the department by winning various design
competitions. From the faculty side, we assure to bring
the best out of students and also contribute to the
institution's growth and the betterment of society.
We welcome all the second year students to the
department and wishes all the very best for the final
year and third year students to have wonderful new
begining in the acdemic year 2017-18.
Best Wishes,
Dr.S.A.Pasupathy / HoD-ECE

My Life at KCT
Like each and every student here, I too had few expectations of college
before entering in. KCT was much higher in standards than what I
expected. I had a plenty of options to enhance my skills and most
important thing at KCT is the freedom which made me to develop my
own character and attitude. I had my own family here at ECE
department. All the professors strived hard to their core knowledge to
us. The lab sessions gave me chances to explore various silicons and
high end equipments. The design exercises at labs made me to improve
on my technical skills. The workshops provided enough knowledge on
industrial level design and also gave me real time experience on
building prototypes. iQube is the place where all my technical skills
got applied. They literally bridged the theoretical understanding and the practical handson
experience. I got to knew about various emerging technologies. The skills developed there helped me
to built prototypes on IoT and embedded.

My Life at KCT
Let's go four years back cherishing the sweet memories of my college life.
The response I got from people around me when they knew I am gonna be a
KCTian for next four years gave me positive energy. The first day as I
stepped into college gave me excitement, fear of ragging; a new
Atmosphere with lot of puzzled faces with lots of expectations and dreams
gave me a mixed feeling. But KCT made me comfortable and confident
with introducing boot camp which made me explore college , build
relationship with my seniors and made me realize that KCT is gonna be my
heaven for next four years. First year was an eye opener year for me. Then
came to second year with haunting subjects to learn and tempting fun-
filled things to do as a student. Second year taught me many things in my life which took me to next
level for rest of the days in college. I became a volunteer for organizing an event for yugam along with
my seniors which made me to self realize that I have good managing and problem solving skills. Then
came third year, which is the year of achievement, hard work and friendship. I was selected as a
department association member with encouragement of my friends. This gave me an opportunity to
interact and spend more time with juniors to improve our department. Finally my college life came to
an end. I always wanted to do something for my college and for my department because they gave me
everything I need. Finally I got a chance to do something because I was elected as department
president. During this phase of my life I learnt so many things and I was a part of leadership council
also which molded and fine tuned my character and leadership skills. JC who was my inspiration for
three years of college life, turned to be my mentor when I was in LC. KCT had given me everything
that I dreamt of. Everything is just fresh in my mind as I pen down my memories, till the painful
moment of departing I didn't realize that I was in a heaven. I'll forever live with those fun filled
memories for all my life. Especially I wanted to thank all my faculties and HoD for their wonderful
support and guidelines throughout my graduation.
