Started: 1 September 2006

Duration: 36 months

Budget: 2.5m EUR

The overall objective of this Specific

Targeted Research Project was to

search for materials and technologies

for road pavement construction and

rehabilitation that would:

• Behave satisfactorily in a

typical climate,

• Have an acceptable

environmental impact,

• Be easy to incorporate within

existing technologies,

• Be cost-effective and easy to

maintain.

A quick overview of results and

presentations given at the Final

seminar in August 2009 are available

on the SPENS web site. The detailed

results of laboratory and field testing

as well as final conclusions are fully

presented in eleven project

deliverables, also available on the

SPENS web site.

The printed Final report may be

obtained from the FEHRL office or

from the Coordinator.
