Digestive System

It’s so slow it takes 3 hours to munch down food.

Works when you eat.

Digest Food. Gets rid of waste. Produces energy

to the body.

Mouth

Where food gets chewed.

Is where the digest tract begins.

Small Intestines

Long tube that is 1½ inches to 2 inches.

Breaks down smaller food to make the body take the vitamins.

Large Intestines

Has three parts; cecum, colon, and the rectum.

Collects waste products from the food you eat.

Liver

Filters some protein.

Produces acid to make the stomach digest the food.

Pancreas

Regulates the glucose’s blood level.

Makes enzymes to break down foods.

Anus

The exit point of the digestive system.

Is where the food exits the body.

Stomach

Has a lining and can break down tough food.

Breaks down food into liquid mixture.
