Printing InstructionsWhen printing this pattern it is important to print it full size. When you bring up the print dialog

box look in the “Page Sizing & Handling” section. Make sure the “Actual Size” is selected

before you hit print.

You also only need to print the page/s you need. After the print dialog opens look for the

“Pages to Print” section. You can print the current page or a range of pages. This will help

save ink by not printing the title/instruction pages.

Woven Basket

Because of the small size of this project I would call ita moderate difficulty pattern. You will have to cutaccurately.

I am using a spruce panel from Home Depot that is .6”thick. You can use .5” or 3/4” thick boards but the height of the basket will be changed.

The pattern on the edge of the board is the angle guide.We will use it to set the silt of the table.

To set the angle of the cut use the angle guide pattern.Set the angle of the cut by lining up the blade with theupper left and the lower right of the guide. We willmake out cuts in the counter clockwise direction.

After you set the angle we will use some scrap wood tomake a drill angle guide.

Use the drill angle guide we just cut to help drill theinterior hole at the same angle as the saw table istilted. Drill very carefully. The spacing is small on thesmall basket. You don’t have much room for error.

After you complete the cuts you will be ready to stackthe basket in the correct order.

You will flip every other ring to stack the basket.

As you flip the rings you can glue them together.Do not glue on the upper ring until the slats areinstalled.

We will size the slats by installing and marking the length.For the small basket the slats will be .1” thick and .5” wide.Adjust the slats for the larger basket.

The slats will be two different lengths as seen in theimage below.

There will be a total of 18 slats.

With the top ring off, install and glue the short slats.

When you install the long slats you may need to installand glue one side and one end then install the upper ringbefore installing and glueing the rest of the long slats.

Glue on the upper ring.

Drill the holes for the handles. You can use one ortwo handels. Drill holes for the wooden dowels thatwill hold the handles in place.

Install the handles.
