SCENARIO“Diversity is about all of us, and about us having to figure out how

to walk through this world together.”Jacqueline Woodson

A male coworker, Juan Carlos Lopez-Delgado, is a hard worker, but keeps to himself because he only wants to do his job and go home. He believes a person only comes to work and not to make friends. Coworkers, Alan Turner and Jean-Marie Gibson, have been very curious about Juan Carlos and questioning why doesn’t he talk to anyone. Juan Carlos hears them making negative assumptions.

A female Asian student, Chun Lee, is new to school. She is having trouble making friends. Her new school is predominately white. Before class, mean girls, Sarah Parker and Ashley McRowan are standing around talking rather loudly. Chun is in earshot of their conversation. She overhears the mean girls using derogatory language and spouting stereotypes.
