I think this new finding is important because everyday we discover new

paths that cells take to protect themselves, that give us new ways of treatment specially in cancer. Now as

we know, scientists and doctors have a new enzyme that could help to cure a

defeating illness as cancer.

It’s important to identify the mechanisms that can cause damages to the DNA, such as

exogenous factors as chemotherapy, UV light, radiation; and endogenous factors as free

radicals; so we can act first, by preventing or modifying the exposure to these damaging

factors.

MEDICAL UTILITY

DNA repair is the first pathway we can use to develop cancer therapies;

because DNA damage is a fundamental problem in life and it’s the main cause of

this illness. When we achieve to fully understand the DNA repair mechanisms,

we would be one step ahead of this disease and it would give multiple

opportunities to people with cancer or another diseases tan involve DNA

damage or damage in the DNA repair mechanism.

Fortunately now, we are improving, and this is

seen at the HDAC inhibitor.

It is also important because it does not

only help with cancer itself, but it helps to

repair the cell after the exposure to the

chemotherapy that the cancer’s patients

experiment.
