Joe got a NYC parking ticket, but the arrow didn't appear to point to Joe's parking space. Is there a defense to this unjust parking ticket? Yes...the "Arrow" defense. Here are the exhibits Joe submitted to support his defense that the arrow was pointing in the wrong direction.

This is a Google Map image of 154 Haven Avenue, at the intersection of West 173rd Street, NYC. !The place of occurrence entered on the No Standing parking ticket was: !

"Opposite 154 Haven Avenue" !

Exhibit 1

This is a Google Map Street View image of the property located at 154 Haven Avenue, consisting of a large building and parking lot. (The insert is an enlargement of the street address)

Exhibit 2

This is a Google Map Street View of the property located at 154 Haven Avenue, and the No Standing Anytime sign located opposite 154 Haven Avenue. The place of occurrence entered on the parking ticket encompasses a huge length of curb space on both sides of the intersection of West 173 Street

Exhibit 3

This is a Google Map Street View of the curb space from the No Standing sign to the corner of 173rd Street. The property at 154 Haven Avenue extends beyond the other side of the intersection, as shown on Exhibit 1 and Exhibit 5

Exhibit 4

West 173 Street

Exhibit 5

There is no record of the No Standing sign ( See, NYC DOT Parking Regulation Map)

This is a Google Map Street View of the red No Standing sign opposite 154 Haven Avenue. The arrow points to the building across the street, not to the intersection of West 173 and Haven Avenue. !A Parking sign regulates the parking spaces in the direction of the arrow. This parking sign does not regulate the parking spaces opposite 154 Haven Avenue (as entered on the parking ticket)

Exhibit 6

Exhibit 7

The arrow on the bottom of the No Standing sign points to the property across the street, not to the parking space in front of or behind the car in the image (Google Map Street View)

Exhibit 8

This is a "live" photograph of the No Standing sign taken after my parking ticket was issued. This parking sign does not regulate the parking spaces opposite 154 Haven Avenue because the arrow points across the street not down the block !Was this a legal parking sign installed by the NYC DOT? If so, why wasn't it displayed on the NYC DOT Parking Regulation Map? (Exhibit 5)

Exhibit 9

This is another "live" photograph taken after my parking ticket was issued. The arrow on the No Standing sign points in the wrong direction, and therefore, the parking rule displayed on the sign does not regulate the parking spaces on either side of the sign.
