Doctrine of SinHarmartiology

I. Definition—“Any failure to conform to the moral law of God in act, attitude or nature” Rom.3:23

II. Origin of Sin

1. Angels—2 Pet. 2:4

III. Inherited sin

1. Federal headship—Adam was our representative (we sinned in him)—Rom. 5:19

19For as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous.

2. Seminal headship—We inherited a sin naturePsalm 51:5

5Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me.
