Thesis & Topics

~Animal Testing~

~ Animal testing is also known as animal experimentation, animal research and in vivo testing, is the use of non-human animals in experiments.

~Over 100 million animals- mice, rats, dogs, cats, rabbits, monkeys, birds, and amongothers are killed in U.S. laboratories for chemical, drug, food, and cosmetics testingevery year.

~Illegal Dog Fighting~

~ In some cases people have

deliberately abused and tortured

animals for the purpose of

making the animal fight for the

gambling and “entertainment”

purposes, including the profit

that was invested from the bull

baiter.

~ Unintentional Abuse / Neglect~

~ Animal abuse is a worldwide silent epidemic that goes largely unnoticed until it is too late. The most common cause of animal neglect is irresponsible owners who do not take into consideration that animals need more attention than intended.~ Animal cruelty can be simple abuse such as beating, kicking, torturing for fun or for malicious purposes. ~ Animal neglect is the failure to take proper care of an animal.

•In my product I volunteered at Brother Wolf No Kill Animal Shelter. I spent almost nine hours observing certain animals and helping them out by taking care of some daily tasks.•I have proof of my experiences in the scrapbook that I created with pictures and captions of what I learned.

•My mentors name

is Joelle and she

is one of the few

founders of Brother Wolf No

Kill Animal Shelter. She has

taught me that no

matter what the

situation, an

animal is still

abused in some

type of way.

My Mentor

Successes & Challenges

*Successes*~ My greatest successes were

learning all kinds of new and interesting things about animal abuse. By doing this project I hope to raise better awareness for how common this issue really is.

*Challenges*

~ My biggest challenges was going into the shelter without adopting a new friend each time.

~ Time management was another concern that I had throughout this project because I chose to do more in detailed things verses going the simpler way.
