Download and Import Media Profiles from Roland

Profile Center into Roland VersaWorks®

This document shows you how to easily download

media profiles from the Roland Profile Center website and

upload the media profiles into your version of the Roland

VersaWorks® RIP Software.

Welcome to the Roland Profile Center. www.rolandprofilecenter.eu

The Roland Profile Center is a one-stop site for obtaining media profiles for your Roland printer, enabling you

to produce the highest quality output from your Roland inkjet.

Simply download a profile for the selected media, import it into your RIP and start printing. It’s that easy.

Please be informed that many of the media profiles posted within the library will be supplied by media

manufacturers other than Roland. With this in mind, and because Roland can only test, endorse and

guarantee its own profiles, users are encouraged to test any profiles selected from the library before printing

to ensure satisfaction.

Roland encourages all media manufacturers to participate in this programme. If you are a media

manufacturer and you would like to receive more information, please e-mail your request to

This guide is for use on Windows systems only.

Change languages

From the right corner of Roland Profile Center, you can choose between 6 different

languages:

English

German

Spanish

French

Italian

Portuguese

View profiles

In the “Profiles” section you can see the available profiles.

Note that you need to register in order to download profiles.

Depending on the choices, the system

will display the profiles available. Note that you need to register in order to download profiles.

How to register

By registering on Roland Profile Center, you will grant

access to features related to you Roland printer.

You will get easy access to media profiles, keep track

of your downloads and the possibility to receive

updates and information about color profiles.

In order to start registering, click the button “Register”

Fill in the registration form. Please select if you want to receive updates and info from

Roland DG.

When the form have been filled with the needed information, click “Save”

After clicking “Save” the above message will be displayed.

An activation email has been send to your email.

Open the email which you have received from Roland DG.

Click the link in the email, to finish the activation process.

From the webpage opening automatically please select your Printer mode, add serial

number and date of purchase.

Click “Register” to finish the process.

Registration is finished.

Now you have access to all functions at Roland Profile Center.

Download profiles

Select the “Printer” model, ”Ink Type”, “Ink Setup”, “RIP” software, and/or

“Media”/”Media Type” you want to download for your printer. Printer Select the Roland printer model

Ink type Select Eco Sol Max 2, Eco Sol Max 3 and Pigment FPG2

Ink setup Select the ink configuration

RIP Select the Roland RIP version

Media Select between a various of Media e.g. Banner, Vinyl, Paper and more

Media Type Select between a several of Media type e.g. Aluminum, Cast or Wallpaper

Depending on the

input, a list of available

profiles will be

displayed.

You will also see the

amount of profiles

available for each

material.

Download profiles

By clicking on the “more information” button, a detailed information will be available.

You can add as many profile to you Download queue, by clicking “add to queue”

Every time you add a profile to the queue, it will be added to your basket.

When you have the needed profiles, click “Download Queue”

From this menu, you can Download all the profiles you have selected, remove all, or

remove one-by-one.

By clicking the “Download queue” the system will start preparing the package for

When the package is ready for download, the system will display the following

The download starts.

Go to your local download folder, where you will find the needed RML file.

The system prepare rml files if you select profiles from only media.

If you combine different media profiles, e.g. Vinyl and Banner in one download, the

system will make a compressed file. Extract the compressed file and you will see the

rml needed.

How to import profiles

Open Roland VersaWorks

Go to the menu “Media”, and select “Media Explorer”

From the menu Media Explorer, choose “Load from File”

Open your folder where the files have

been extracted.

DO NOT click OK, until VersaWorks have finished the import of the profiles

The system will display the profile you are about to import.

Click “OK”

Not the system will display the imported profile.

You can repeat the procedure if you need to import more profiles.

Click “OK” to finish the import procedure.

Click “yes” to apply the settings.

Now you will be able of selecting the media profile, from the “Media Type” menu.

From the menu “My printers” you can make adjustments to your personal site.

You can register a new printer. By clicking this you will be redirected to the same

procedure as the first time you registered.

You can also edit your profile.

If you accidently typed wrong data, you will be able of changing them by editing your

Roland printer.

You can also remove your machine from your personal site, if you do not own it any

If you have converted a printer from Eco Sol Max / Max 2 inks to Eco Sol Max 3 inks,

and have made your own profiles for the current ink setup, it is possible to convert

your profile to be used with Eco Sol Max 3.

Choose you file (rml) by clicking “Choose File”

In this example we use a profile made for RF-640 using Eco Sol Max 2 inks.

Choose your file, and click “open”

The converting process is started automatically.

After converting you will be able of downloading your file.

Please use this file for your Roland VersaWorks.

You will be able to different the two files. The converted file will be named “conv”

Import the profile, uing the same procedure as described earlier.

From the “Contact us” you will be able of sending us a question.

The system will automatically use your contact details. Select a Subject and a question

and send it by clicking “Submit”
