Dress and AttireWe do dress just a little bit differently here in Plymouth. No such conveniences as belts; we rely on ties to keep our clothes in the appropriate places. The women and girls were dresses, while the men and boys were breeches and overcoats.

Plymouth was founded a haven to find religious
freedom. As you can imagine, our religion is very
important to our everyday lives. We believe in a
simpler form of religion that doesn’t need to be
dictated by the whims of the king.
Our religious teachings are extended through
lessons at home. This is our form of school. The
children learn at home and study the Bible to learn
how to read and write. Our children do an amazing
job of memorizing Bible verses!
We understand that you use knives, forks, and
spoons to eat. Well here in Plymouth we use our
fingers to grab food and eat. Our diet is probably a
little different. Because of where we live, we mostly
eat waterfowl and seafood. We also rely on corn
based products because it is our most reliable and
abundant crop.
Religion! School! Food! Chores!Games and Activities
Plymouth: The land of opportunity for all religions and a place to find who are and who you
can be. Plymouth: The right choice for all.
Knicker box is a popular game that children play.
The goal is to roll the marbles through the small
openings on the board. Can you conquer this game?
Here at Plymouth there is always work to do,
like the good folk carrying manure in the
picture below. We must work hard during the
summer to help prepare us for the coming
winter when food is harder to find. We also
must fetch our water each time that we need it.
This is sure to help keep the children busy and
out of trouble!
