Virtual Zones Programming (Single Panel): DSC PowerSeries Neo
allows the assignment of up to 32 of its total zones as virtual
zones. A DSC PowerSeries Neo zone can be “triggered” in Alarm,
Trouble, Tamper by Kantech inputs, doors or controller events using
Virtual zones. The benefit is that a Kantech Controller Door can
cause an event on a DSC PowerSeries Neo zone without any wiring,
and transmit the event to the monitoring central station if needed.
Note - the following Firmware is required:
o KT-400 Firmware 1.17 or higher
o KT-400 rev1 Firmware 1.23 or higher
o KT-1-M or PCB Firmware 1.03 or higher
Note: HS2016 can only have 16 virtual zones The following steps
describe the method to program a single panel as a virtual
zone:
1. DSC Virtual zones need to be assigned to a DSC physical zone
using the DSC
keypad using option
c. Choose the physical zone to be linked: ex: 009
d. Press # when done
2. Go to the Devices tab and select the Integrated Panel
button
a. Select the previously created DSC PowerSeries Neo panel
b. Click the Panel Component tab
c. Under Virtual zone select the number of virtual zones you
have
d. Save the integration module
3. Go to the Devices tab and select the Integrated Component
button.
a. Select the appropriate Virtual Zone in the Component dropdown
list
b. Click on Click here to open the configuration form
c. Choose the Kantech component type to link in the Component type
dropdown list
d. Choose the Kantech component in the Component source

e. Check the proper DSC Component action the Virtual zone will
cause on the DSC
PowerSeries Neo
g. Save the virtual zone
Virtual Zones Programming (Multiple Panels): The following
describes the method to program a multiple panels as virtual zones
using the virtual zone mapping window: In order to link components
from multiple controllers, the gateway will manage or supervise the
events of all controllers, other than the one where the Neo panel
is used. The virtual zone mapping window will now be populated with
all appropriate devices. When opening the mapping of components to
a virtual zone, the list of components is based on the devices of
the same gateway and same account where the Neo panel is used. For
example, doors: the doors will be listed where Neo is connected,
along with and doors of all the other controllers using the same
gateway.

The Gateway will monitor the events from the other controllers and
send commands to the KT’s DLL to update the virtual zone,
accordingly.
Using this connectivity, where the gateway is sending commands to
Neo (through a KT-1 or KT-400), it is possible to interact with all
types of controllers on that gateway (KT-100, KT- 200, KT-300),
even if connected through RS-485 bus.

The PowerSeries Neo/Kantech integration provides users with the
following abilities:
Receiving programming of the intrusion system: the partition and
zone names can be uploaded to the EntraPass software from the
intrusion panel. The partitions and zones can be used for various
actions, such as operator operations. Additionally, the user codes
can be uploaded from the intrusion panel and stored in the
EntraPass software. The EntraPass operator can program and download
new user codes to the intrusion panel or modify existing
ones.
Receiving events from the intrusion panel: the intrusion panel
events can be viewed on the message list, and be used for reporting
in conjunction with the standard access events. Furthermore, these
intrusion events can be used to trigger video recordings, pop-up
alarms, email notifications and other actions.
Manual operations from EntraPass: the operator can perform manual
operations on partitions from the EntraPass software, operations
such as: Partition arm away, partition arm stay, partition arm no
entry delay, partition arm with code, and disarm partition with
code.
Using intrusion components on graphics: the uploaded zones and
partitions can be used in graphic floor plans to visualize where
each zone, partitions and traditional access control components,
are located on the floor plan. The operator can view the status of
each of the components and perform operations on partitions.
Arm and disarm partitions: the intrusion panel partition can be
linked to a reader or readers to request an arming and disarming of
the partition via a card. When a card holder presents a card and
pushes the appropriate button on the reader, the KT- 400/KT-1 will
send an arming request to the intrusion panel. When a card holder
presents a card and opens the doors, the KT controller will send a
disarming request to the intrusion panel. The EntraPass software
supports single partition management per reader or multiple
partition management per reader.
