A Guide for Mac users

Resources Needed
• A computer with administrative privileges (for allowing program downloads)
• Dylos DC1700 monitor
• TRENDnet TU-S9 USB-to-Serial converter cord

Before You Download the First Time
• 1) Generate the file name prefix and write it on the equipment label on each Dylos.
• 2) Set up a folder on your computer for your Dylos downloads.

Use this file name convention:[3-character initials] _ [Monitor location I, O, R] _ [Dylos ID#]
Example:ABC_O_D123

• 3) Install & run the driver for TRENDnet TU-S9 USB-to-Serialcable (white cable).

• 3a) Select DOWNLOADS / SUPPORT from the menu tabs below the product image.

• 3b) Select the Macversion and then select Download.

• 3c) Navigate to the download and unzip the file (1st item).
• 3d) Open the folder (2nd item).
• 3e) Open the .pkgfile.

• 3f) Follow the prompts and install the driver.

• 4) Download ZOConto your computer.

• 4a) Select theDownload icon.

• 4b) Navigate to your downloads folder and open the .dmg file.

Open ZOC
• 1) Navigate to the ZOC application.

Plug in, Turn on
• 2a) Using the power switch on the side, turn off the device.
• 2b) Using the “Dylos Download Cord”, connect the Dylos to your computer’s USB port.
• 2c) Connect the Dylos to the serial end of the TRENDnet cord.
• 2d) Using the power switch on the side or power button on the front, turn on the device.

Configure ZOC
• 3a) In the Connect tofield, type serial.
• 3b) In the Connection type field, select Serial/Direct.
• 3c) In the Emulationfield, select TTY.
• 3d) Leave Session profile as-is.

• 4) Select Configure next to Connection type then click “override”.

• 4a) Select Scan next to Com-Port.

• 4b) An option should appear that looks like Prolific Technology Inc. USB Serial… select that and click OK.

• 4c) Select or type 9600 for speed.
• 4d) Next, select 8N1.
• 4e) Select RTS signal off.
• 4f) Then select DTR signal on.

• 4g) Leave the other settings as-is and click OK.

• 5) Select Connect.
• 6) You should see this line which confirms your successful connection.

Set Logfile Name
• 7) In the overhead menu, select Logging.
• 8) Navigate down and select Set Logfile Name.

• 9) Next to Save As, specify the file name. Leave .log after it.
Example:ABC_O_D123_6-17-18_Patio

• 10) Select the down arrow next to the Save As bar.
• 11) Pick someplace easy to find; Desktop or Downloads or a folder you’ve created for Dylos.
• 12) Select Save.

Download data
• 13) Upon returning to the main screen, select your mouse inside the ZOC window, and hold down Shift + D + Enter. It may take a few tries.
(You may have to utilize CAPSLOCKinstead of the Shift key)

Download data
You will see the date/time stamped data start to scroll. After ~7 minutes, it will stop.

Disconnect
• 14) When the data has stopped logging, select Disconnect.
• 15) When prompted, select Yes.

A line will appear confirming the disconnection.

Confirm Download
• 16) Navigate to wherever you selected to save your file.
• 17) Confirm that the size is ~200 - 400 KB for a week’s worth of data.

• 18) Open the file to confirm that the first & last dates of data collection are logged.

Clear Dylos History
• 19) Scroll through the Dylos menu, using the middle MODEbutton, until you come to the Clear History? screen.
• 20) Press the right SELECT button to clear the history.

Rinse & Repeat
Repeat the process for the remaining two monitors.
Note: For the remaining two units, start after the software install steps, and skip from step 2a) to step 5).

Upload Data
• 21) Using the link provided by ROCIS via LCMP e-mails, navigate to Sharefile and fill out your information.

• 22) Note that Sharefile won’t upload folders, so drag & drop individual files. Please upload multiple files at once.
• 23) Return Dylos to their respective locations. Note that the power adapter can be stiff, so ensure the plug is firmly secured in the adapter port.
