Step 1: Remove Handle Drive Cord from Drive Plate Hook

Removetheshuttlechannelcoverandsetaside.Itwillbereinstalledinstep3.Slidethefootcarriagetothefrontlegassemblyandremovethehandlefromthehandlehook.

Slidethefootcarriagebacktowardtherearofthemachine.Reachinsidetheslotintheshuttlechannel,placetwofingersunderthedrivecordandliftupslightlytocreateslack.SeephotoA.

Keepingthedrivecordlifted,slowlyslidethefootcarriagetothefrontlegassemblyagainandusetheslacktounhookthecordfromthedriveplatehook. SeephotoB.

Allowtheshuttletoretractuntilitcomestoastopinsidetherearleg.SeeimageC.Pushtheloopedendofthehandledrivecorddownthroughtheshuttle(betweenthetwopulleys)andthenremovethehandledrivecordfromtheshuttlechannelbypullingitoutfromthefrontofthemachine.

Step 2: Remove Handle from Handle Drive Cord

Usinga7/16”wrench,unscrewthetwonutsthatholdthehandleu-boltinplace.Youmayneedtopushtheu-boltfurtherintothehandletoaccessthenuts.SeephotoD.Withthetwonutsremoved,pulltheu-boltoutofthehandleandremovethehandlefromthehandledrivecordbarrel.Discardoldhandledrivecord.

Step 3: Install Replacement Handle Drive Cord

Pushtheloopedendofthehandledrivecordupthroughtheslotinthebottomoftheshuttlechannelsothatitisdirectlybehindthelowerpulley.SeephotoE.Pullallofthehandledrivecordoutofthetopoftheshuttlechannelandsetitonthefloor.

Attheoppositeendofthemachinewheretheshuttlechannelmeetstherearleg,reachintotheslotintheshuttlechannelandgrasptheshuttle.Pulltheshuttleupthroughtheslotintheshuttlechannelsothatitisexposed.SeephotoF.

Pushtheloopedendofthehandledrivecordupthroughtheshuttle(betweenthetwopulleys)andoverthehandledrivecordpulley.SeephotoG.

Pullthehandledrivecordtowardthefrontlegassemblysothatalltheslackistakenuparoundthedrivecordpulley.SeephotoH.

Slidethefootcarriageallthewaytotheendoftherailnearthefrontlegassembly.Hooktheloopedendofthehandledrivecordovertheexposedtipofthedriveplatehook.SeephotoI.

Tuckthehandledrivecorddownintotheslotintheshuttlechannelsothattheknotoftheloopedendisinsidetheshuttlechannelandbehindthedriveplatehook.Pullbackonthehandledrivecordtoensurethattheloopisfullyseatedatthebaseofthedriveplatehook.Checktheknottoensureitisnotrubbingagainstthetopoftheshuttlechannel.Ifitisrubbing,removetheloopfromthedriveplatehookandrotateitsothatthetailoftheknotispointingdownandawayfromthetopoftheshuttlechannel. Reinstalltheshuttlechannelcover.SeephotoK.

Runthedrivecordbarrelaroundthetoppulleyofthefrontlegassembly.SeephotoL.

Step 4: Reinstall Handle on Replacement Handle Drive Cord

Toreinstallthehandleonthereplacementdrivecord,passtheu-boltthroughtheholesintheblackbarrelandthroughthegreenwearsleeveinsidethecordloop.SeephotoM.Reattachtheu-bolttothehandlebyreinstallingthetwonuts.

Pullthehandletowardthefootcarriageuntilitcanbeplacedinthefootcarriagehandlehook.SeephotoN.
