HOMEBUYERS AND HOMEOWNERS WILL APPRECIATE THEBENEFITS OF E-MAX:• E-Max keeps summer heat out and winter warmth in, leading to reduced heating and cooling costs.

This energy savings varies depending on building materials, home location, and environmentalconditions.

• If you reduce the amount of heat coming down out of the ceiling, the thermal comfort of a roomimproves.

• E-Max can make a home more “green” by increasing thermal comfort, and energy efficiency.

E-MAX IS:• An energy saving coating!• A interior radiant control coating (IRCC)• A reflective coating containing microscopic metal particles• A coating that reflects radiant heat

E-MAX WORKS BY:• reflecting away radiant energy from the sun to keep

the building cooler in the summer• reducing 75% of the radiant solar heat that enters through the

roof - this means there is less heat available to transfer throughto the rooms below

• reflecting interior radiant heat back into the structure, keeping it warmer in the winter

E-MAX OFFERS:• increased comfort• reduced energy costs, because less energy is required to keep

the structure cooler or warmer

E-MAX CAN BE APPLIED BY:• Insulation/radiant barrier specialists• Roofing contractors• Painting contractors

E-MAX CAN BE APPLIED TO:• underside of attic roof decking in existing or new homes• previously-coated metal decking in commercial structures

THE TESTING:E-Max was tested by an independant, certified Solar Energy Center. E-Max was certified to have a lowemissivity rating of .25, which means it stopped 75% of the potential radiant heat transfer. Additionally, each factory batch is certified to be .25 emissivity or less, supported by a certificate of analysis.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR EXISTING HOMES:Interest in saving energy has never been higher and everyone wants to be more comfortable whilereducing costs.

While there are other interior radiant control coatings on the market, E-Max is unique, because unlikeother coatings, E-max is a single component product with minimal overspray and individual batchverification. Minimal prep work or masking is required and only one coat is necessary to achieve the ratedemmisivity.

FOR NEW RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION:Foil-covered radiant control sheets are common in new homes, but E-Max has the followingadvantages over these types of products:• E-Max can be applied to existing roofs in model homes, spec homes or occupied homes.• E-Max is up to 30% less expensive than foil sheeting• E-Max is breathable - helps to prevent moisture buildup and mold• E-Max will not interfere with cell phone transmission or reception• E-Max lasts longer and will not delaminate if moisture is present

DEFINITIONS:Emissivity:The ability of a surface to radiate or emit energy in the form of infrared radiation. Emissivity is represented by an e-value of zero to one.The lower the number, the more effective the blockage of radiant heat transfer.

Reflective:The percentage of light that is reflected away from a surface.

R-value:A measure of resistance to heat flow through a solid material. The higher the R-value, the higher the insulating quality. An R-valuecannot be assigned to a coating. It is only applicable to bulk insulation because it takes into account material thickness and density.A coating is not thick enough to warrant an R-value.
