Limbic Learning

= Learnt By Emersion – experience= Linked - Emotional Quotient (EQ)= Other than conscious = Can be working with Emotions= Whole Body

Historic Learning

• Taught by doing and watching• Predominantly Limbic with some Neo-Cortex• Outome

is an other than conscious competence• Accelerated learning • Examples walking, hunting/gathering etc

New Learning - NLP• Experiential – learning by doing• Whole Body • Language is the entry point to the emotion• Ritual utilised positively/structure• Learning is often “other than conscious”• Always Limbic Learning • Accelerated Learning

Blocks to Learning • Un-safe• Comparison to other learners • Interference (P=p-i)• Fear of making mistakes• Unwanted/unknown learnt behaviours • Untimely or judgemental feedback• Lacking motivation

Positive Learning Environments

• Safe• Encourage experimentation and play• Timely and focused feedback• Full body – notice your experience• Outcome focused• Open • Motivated to learn
