Common Core State Standards have been adopted by states to help prepare students for college and the work force

Emphasizes rigor and depth of learning and understanding v. rote skills

Parents may walk children to classrooms (first 3 days of school only). There after, kisses, hugs and good-byes at the gate.

Shortened Day Schedule for Kinder/TK only: First 5 Days 8:50-11:50 a.m. 3 hour day

with no lunch Regular Schedule:◦ Beginning Monday, 9/2/19◦ 8:50 a.m-1:50 p.m.

For safety and to not delay traffic, only enter the NHS/Edison parking lot East bound. Edison small parking lot is not for drop off/pick

up. Red Reserved Parking is for Teachers and Staff –

do not temporarily park to drop off. Crossing guard, escort all students personally Tuesdays are heavy AM traffic due to NHS Late

Start is 8:50 or drop off at back of school. On Tuesdays plan to arrive as early as 8:20. Please be patient and drive safely around

Eat for 20 mins and head out to yard to play. Try not to deliver lunch unless child knows to pick

Our weekly Spirit Assemblies are on Mondays If school is closed on Monday, the assembly

will be on Tuesday. First Spirit Assembly will be on Tuesday, Sept

3rd (as Sept is Labor Day). Students wear Edison Gear or Red Shirts Parents are welcome to attend and would sign
