1. About EFT International

EFTInternational*isavoluntary,not-for-profitassociation(UKRegisteredCharitableIncorporatedOrganisation(CIO),registeredcharitynumber1176538).

EFTInternationaliscommittedtoadvancingandupholdingthehigheststandardsforeducation,training,professionaldevelopmentandpromotionoftheskillful,creativeandethicalapplicationofEFT(EmotionalFreedomTechniquesor"Tapping").

Foundedin1999,EFTInternational(formerlyAAMET,TheAssociationfortheAdvancementofMeridianTechniques),hasbeenaleaderindeveloping,promotingandsupportingqualityEFTtrainingbymaintaininghighprofessionalstandardsforteachingEFT.

EFTInternational(or“EFTi”forshort)wasfoundedintheUK,however,EFTInternational’sgoverningboardsnowincludevolunteersfrommanycountriesaroundtheworld.

SinceEFTInternationalisacharity,officersandboardmembersserveonavoluntarybasiswithhonorariumsgivenannuallytothosewhocontributeagreatdealofextratimeandeffort.GroupdecisionsaremadebyconsensusamongtheboardmembersoftheExecutive,Communications,TrainingandAccreditation,Ethics,ResearchandDiversityteams.

Since1999,EFTInternationaltappingtrainingshavebeenknownandrespectedaroundtheworld.AtrulyinternationalEFTorganization,EFTInternationalstandsforquality,longevityandflexibilityinthefieldofEFTtrainingandcertification.

1.1 WhyTraininEFTwithanEFTInternationalTrainer?AllEFTInternationalregisteredTrainers(registeredNQTs,MasterTrainersandMasterTrainersofTrainers)offerEFTcoursesthatmeetEFTInternationalstandards.AllTrainershaveagreedtofollowstrictrequirementsinanefforttoassureconsistent,qualitytrainingaswellasmentoringinaccordancewithEFTInternationalcurriculaandguidelines.

ReasonstotraininEFTwithanEFTInternationalTrainer:

• EFTInternational(formerlyAAMETInternational)hasbeeninoperationsince1999,andassuchprovidesthereputationandexperiencetoprovidethehighestlevelsofserviceandsupporttoourmembers.

2. EFT Practitioner and Advanced EFT Practitioner Training and Certification

2.1 TrainingLevelsEFTInternationalpromotesconsistencyandhighstandardsinEFTtrainingthroughthreeconsecutivelevelsoflearning:

• Level1(BasicSkillsorIntroductiontoFoundationalSkills)

• Level2(FoundationalSkills)

• Level3(AdvancedSkills)

AdvancementfromEFTStudentlevel(Levels1and2)toCertification-Candidate(post-Level2)toCertifiedPractitionerandbeyondvariesbyindividualandisdependentuponthequalityandquantityoftraining,independentstudy,mentoringandexperienceinthefield(self-careandworkwithothers).TrainingisonlyonepartoftheprocessofbecomingskilledinEFTpractice.

BecauseEFTInternationaliscommittedtoexcellenceinEFTInternationalEFTtrainingatalllevels,theTrainingBoardconsistentlyreviewsandupgradescontentandtrainingmaterialsforthebestexperienceforTrainersandtrainees.EFTInternationalTrainingandAccreditationBoard(TAB)welcomescommentsandsuggestionsfromallmembersviaemailattraining@aamet.orgorviatheFeedbackandReportaConcernformsavailableonhttps://www.eftinternational.org

2.2 IntroductoryEFTWorkshopsIntroductoryworkshopsofferanidealformatforlaypeople,healthcareprofessionalsandotherstoinitiallyexperienceEFT.BothEFTTrainersandEFTPractitionersmayoffertheseworkshops.Suchclassesaregenerallyamaximumof3.5hrs.FacilitatorsofIntroductoryEFTWorkshopsmaychoosetogiveattendeesanattendancecertificate.

IntroductoryEFTWorkshopsarenotconsideredEFTtrainingcourses,buttheyareopportunitiestointroducetheusefulnessofEFT–oftenaroundaspecifictheme–like“EFTforsportsperformance,”etc.

2.3 EFTLevel1TrainingEFTLevel1isanintroductiontofoundationalEFTskills.Level1EFTtrainingisdesignedtohelpstudentsusebasicEFTcompetentlyinanon-professionalcapacity.CompletionofLevel1isaprerequisiteforfurtherEFTInternationalEFTtraining,anditdoesnotconferPractitionerstatus.

EFTLevel1isa12-hourcourse.Itcanbeexperiencedonlineorin-personindifferingandflexibletrainingconfigurations.Forexample:

• 2Days(12contacthoursspreadover2days)

• 1Day(6contacthoursminimum,with6hoursadditionalinstructionandfacilitationforatotalof12hours).Whenusinga1-dayclassroomconfiguration,allremaininghoursmustbeactivelyfacilitated.Thisrequirementcanbeaccomplishedusingacombinationofpre-courseand/orpost-coursetraining.TheformatoftheseadditionalhoursisatthediscretionoftheTrainer,butmustincludeinteractivecomponentslikein-persondiscussions,follow-upQ&As,practicesessions,webinarsorteleseminars.Forexample,Trainer(s)mayoffera6-hour“IntroductiontoLevel1”conductedviawebinarbeforestudentsattendanin-person1-daycourse

• 3Days(Fora3-daycomprehensiveL1/L2course,aminimumof21contacthours,isrequiredforbothcourses,plus3hoursofpre-orpost-courseinstructionorfacilitation(seeabove)foratotalof24hours).Inthisconfiguration,itisunderstoodthatLevel1contentoverlapswithLevel2contentattimes(i.e.Movie/TelltheStoryandtheImportanceofBeingGentlemaybetaughtaspartofthesamemodule,etc.)

• OnlineTrainingforLevel1requires12contacthours,formattobedecidedbytheTrainer(s).SeeOnlineTrainingRequirementsandBest-Practices

2.4 EFTLevel2TrainingEFTLevel2isdesignedtogivestudentsacompleteexperientialoverviewofallfoundationalEFTskills.Itisgivenasa12-hour(minimum)course–oftentaughtasastand-alonecourseof2or3days.

CompletionofLevel2isaprerequisiteforEFTInternationalPractitionerCertification.ItdoesnotconferPractitionerstatus.

OnlineTrainingatLevel2requires12contacthours,formattobedecidedbytheTrainer(s).SeeOnlineTrainingRequirementsandBest-Practices.

2.5 CombinedEFTLevel1and2TrainingEFTLevels1and2canalsobetaughttogetherasonecombinedcourse.OntheEFTInternational.orgwebsite,interestedstudentscanfiltersearchresultsbylookingfor“CombinedLevel1andLevel2Courses”

OnlineTrainingforcombinedLevel1andLevel2trainingrequires21contacthours,formattobedecidedbytheTrainer(s).SeeOnlineTrainingRequirementsandBest-Practices.

2.6 PractitionerCertificationAftercompletinganEFTInternationalLevel2course,eitherin-personoronline,studentshavetheoptionofpursuingaccreditedcertification.InadditiontocompletionoftheLevels1and2trainingcourses,thereisanextensivementoringandassessmentprocessrequiredforaccreditedpractitionercertification,whichincludessignificantpracticeandcasestudies.

TobecomeanEFTInternationalAccreditedCertifiedEFTPractitioner,candidatesforEFTcertificationmustsuccessfullycompletethefollowingrequirements:

• Passtheonlinemultiple-choicePractitionerExamviatheEFTInternationalwebsite.APractitioner-Candidate(or“Candidate”)mustbeanEFTInternationalmembertoaccesstheexam

• Receive6hoursmentoring(either1-to-1orinagroupof8orless)withanyEFTInternationalMasterTrainer(intheroleofMentor).MentoringforcertificationisusuallyundertakenwiththeTrainerwhoseworkshopstheyhaveattended.Itcanbeconductedin-person,overthephone,viavideoconferenceorviawebinarNote:TheTrainer-levelmentorchosenwillbetheonewhoisresponsibleforissueoftheEFTPractitionerorAdvancedPractitionercertificationandnotificationtoEFTithatthestudentisreadyforupgrade.HoursspentingeneralgroupmentoringsessionsintendedforqualifiedPractitionersdonotfulfiltherequirementsofthecertificationprocess

• Completeaminimumof50EFTsessions(or“practicehours”)workingwithatleast20differentindividuals.EachEFTsessionmustbeaminimumof45-minutesinlength

• Completeanyadditional,discretionaryrequirementsasoutlinedbytheEFTInternationalMasterTrainer(intheroleofMentor)duringthecertificationprocess.Mentorsmayrequireadditionalclientsessions/practicehours,1-to-1mentoringmeetingsorcasestudiesasneededtocompletetheirassessment

OncetheCandidatehascompletedalloftherequirementsandtheTrainerisassuredofthecandidate’scompetency,thenewEFTpractitionercanupgradetheirEFTInternationalMembershipfromStudentMemberto“AccreditedCertifiedEFTPractitioner.”

Tomaintaincertifiedpractitionerstatus,membersmustfulfillannualCPDandsupervision/mentoringrequirements.

2.7 EFTLevel3TrainingLevel3isaminimum18-hourcourse.ItinvolvesareviewoffoundationalskillsandintroducesadvancedEFTconceptsandstrategiestoencourageandenhanceEFTArtofDelivery(seetheEFTInternationalGlossaryofTerms).TheformatcanbedecidedatTrainer(s)discretion.SeeOnlineTrainingRequirementsandBest-Practices.

PleaseNote:UnlessthestudenthasextensivepriorknowledgeandexpertiseinEFT,thegapbetweentakingLevels2and3mustbeaminimumof6months–attheTrainer’sdiscretion.ReadinesstoattendaL3courseisassessedbytheTrainer.

2.8 AdvancedPractitionerCertificationAftercompletinganEFTInternationalLevel3trainingcourse,studentshavetheoptionofpursuingEFTInternationalAdvancedPractitionerCertification.InadditiontocompletionoftheLevel3workshop,thereisanextensivementoringandassessmentprocessforAdvancedPractitionerstatus.

TobecomeanEFTInternationalAccreditedCertifiedAdvancedEFTPractitioner,studentsneedtosuccessfullycompletethefollowingrequirements:

• PasstheonlineAdvancedPractitionerExamviatheEFTInternationalwebsite.Note:StudentswhohavenotpreviouslyheldEFTimembershipatEFTPractitionerlevelwillneedtofirstregisteratStudentlevelandthenasktheMembershipSecretarytoaccesstheLevel3exam

2.9 OnlineTrainingBeginninginMay2020,EFTInternationalallowsonlinetrainingforEFTLevels1,2and3andTrainerlevel.Thestandards,learningoutcomes,andcourserequirementsremainthesameasin-persontrainingforeachlevel.Thereareadditionalonlinetrainingrequirements(includingbest-practices)thateachEFTitrainermustfollowtofacilitatequalityonlineEFTtraining.AlistofonlinetrainingcoursesofferedbyEFTiTrainerscanbefoundonEFTInternational.org.

3. Master Trainer Training and Certification

AreyouinterestedinteachingEFTandbecomingaTrainerwithEFTInternational?IfteachingEFTissomethingyou'repassionateabout,EFTInternationalprovidesapathwayforAccreditedCertifiedAdvancedEFTPractitioners(afterthe2ndyearofmembershipattheAdvancedPractitionerLevel)togainthetraining/teachingexperiencenecessarytostepconfidently,congruentlyandexpertlyintotheteachingrole–firstasNewlyQualifiedTrainersandultimatelyasfullMasterTrainermembersofEFTInternational.EFTInternationaloffersan"Apprenticeship"modeloftrainingwherebyanyMasterTrainerof

TrainerscanstepintotheroleofMentorandassessacandidate'squalificationsandexperiencetobeanEFTInternationalTrainer.ThemodelandformatofthisapprenticeshipfollowstheEFTInternationalMasterTrainer(MT)Programme–theformatofwhichisatthediscretionoftheMasterTrainerofTrainers,providedEFTInternationalcoreMTrequirementsaremet.

Ingeneral,MasterTrainersofTrainerswillbelookingtoassesswhetheracandidatemeetsallLevel2andLevel3competenciesandpractitionerrequirementsaswellasMasterTrainercompetenciesandrequirements–enoughtospendatleast1yearteachingEFTLevels1and2ontheirown,underthetutelageoftheirchosenMTOT(intheroleofMentor).

MasterTrainerapprenticeshipprogrammescanbeacombinationofclassroom-basedoronlinestudyandpractice.

UponcompletionofaMasterTrainerapprenticeshipwithaMasterTrainerofTrainers,Trainer-CandidatesareawardedEFTInternationalAccredited,CertifiedTrainer(NQT)status.

3.1 AcquiringNewlyQualifiedTrainer(NQT)StatusAllcandidatesforEFTInternationalAccredited,CertifiedTrainer(NQT)statusmust:

• AttainEFTInternationalAccreditedAdvancedEFTPractitionerstatusforaminimumof2years

• WorktogetherwithanEFTInternationalMasterTrainerofTrainersandcompleteallEFTInternationalanddiscretionarypracticeandassessmentcriteriaassetforthbyEFTInternationalMasterTrainerProgrammeandtheTrainerofTrainersintheroleofMentor

• Beafullypaid-upmemberofEFTInternational

• AgreetoabidebyEFTInternational’sregulationsandpolicies

• Holdprofessionalindemnityinsurancewhereavailable

• TakeandpasstheEFTInternationalMasterTraineronlineexam(toassesspracticalandtheoreticalknowledgeofEFTandknowledgeoftheMasterTrainermanualandEFTInternational’spoliciesandregulations),wheninstructedtodosobytheirMentor

• MeetallthecriteriaintheEFTInternationalNewlyQualifiedTrainerapplicationform

• Self-assess,togetherwithMentor,whetherallthecompetencieshavebeenmet

• SignTrainer’sContract(aspartoftheupgradeprocessontheEFTiwebsite),whichincludesagreementtoabidebyEFTInternational’sprofessionalstandards(EFTInternational’sCodeofConductandEthicsandCPDRegulations,etc.)

MasterTrainersofTrainersrunningMasterTrainercourses/apprenticeshipscanmakefurtherchecksonthecompetenceofapplicantsattheirowndiscretion–providedfairnoticeisgiventoeachTrainer-Candidate.

OncetheAccreditationPanelhasreceivednotificationthatastudenthaspassedtheMasterTrainerexamandcompletedallrequirementsandreceivedthesignedContract,EFTInternationalwillawardaCertificationofAccreditationatAccreditedCertifiedEFTTrainer(NQT)level.

AllNewlyQualifiedEFTInternationalTrainerscanlistthemselvesas“EFTInternationalTrainers(NQT)”andwillbelistedonthehttps://eftinternational.orgwebsiteas“EFTInternationalAccredited,CertifiedTrainer(NQT)”untiltheyachievefullAccredited,CertifiedMasterTrainerstatus.

3.2 AchievingFullMasterTrainerStatusNewlyQualifiedTrainerscanapplytoEFTInternationalforfullMasterTrainerstatusafteraptlydemonstrating(withintheirfirstyearasaNewlyQualifiedTrainer)theycantrainEFTtoLevels1and2inacompetent,professionalandcommittedmanner.

ThefollowingcriteriaareincludedintheApplicationformforupgradetofullMasterTrainerstatusandmustbemetbeforetheupgradecanproceed.

Allcandidatesforupgradefromnewlyqualified(NQT)tofullMasterTrainerstatus:

• Musthavecompletedaminimumof12monthsregistrationwithEFTInternationalasaanEFTInternationalTrainer(NQT)

• MusthavedeliveredatleasttwotrainingcoursesatLevel1andtwotrainingcoursesatLevel2withintheNQTperiod,allofwhichmustbeforgroupsof2ormorestudents.Onetrainingcoursecanbesufficientateachleveliftherearemorethan6participantsineachtraininggroup

• MustprovideavalidCPDandMentoringrecordfortheirprovisionalperiodincludingcommentsandarecommendationfromtheAccreditedMasterTrainerofTrainerswhoisactingasMentor

• Mustshadoworco-trainwithamoreexperiencedtrainerthroughatleastonetrainingcourseandwriteareflectiononthisexperienceaspartoftherecordedCPD

• MusthavecompletedanyactionsthatwereaskedofthematthetimethattheywereawardedNQTstatus(suchasamendmentstowebsites,changestoassessmentstructureetc.)

4. What is Accreditation?

4.1 EFTInternationalAccreditationInanefforttomeetspecificrequirementsinvolvedinhavingourEFTTrainingandAccredited–Certificationproceduresunderstood,validatedandrespectedbyexternalaccreditingbodies,EFTInternationalhasestablishedaninternalAccreditationprocesstoadequatelyprepareourmembershipandourtrainingprogrammeforthesechallenges.

Thisprocessinvolvesongoingimprovementofourtrainingstandardsandmaterials,aswellasrequiringonlinetestingandMentoringandCPD(ContinuousProfessionalDevelopment)activitiesforourcertifiedmembers.

Inshort,EFTInternationalexercisesongoingduediligencetoensurethatEFTInternationalAccredited,CertifiedTrainersandPractitionersmeetthehigheststandardsofprofessionalEFT(EmotionalFreedomTechniques)practice.

BoththeEFTInternationalAccreditationprocessandtheEFTInternationalTraining,CertificationandAccreditationProgrammearedesignedtodemonstratethiscommitmentbothtoourmembersandtoexternalaccreditingbodies.

HowAccreditationworks:

• EFTInternationaloffersAccreditedmembershipforallCertifiedandAdvancedCertifiedpractitionerstrainedbyEFTInternationalAccreditedCertifiedMasterTrainers.Wealsolayoutcertificationrequirementsandtrainingstandardsforallourtrainerstofollowwhentheyteachcoursesoroffercertificationtotheirstudents

• AteachlevelofEFTInternationalmembership,therearespecificrequirementstobecomingandremainingAccreditedbyEFTInternational.AllofthesestepsarenowbuiltintoourcurrentEFTTrainingandCertificationstructure

• AllcurrentEFTInternationalTrainers(called"CertifiedEFTTrainers(NQT),"“EFTMasterTrainers,”and“EFTMasterTrainersofTrainers”)havegonethroughtheinternalEFTInternationalAccreditationprocess.TheAccreditationprocessremainsopentocurrentCertifiedandAdvancedCertifiedPractitionersaswellasexternalcandidatesfromotherEFTcertifyingorganizations

4.2 ExternalAccreditationInanefforttoofferthehigheststandardsforEFT(EmotionalFreedomTechniques)trainingandcertificationforthefuture,EFTInternationalisformallycommittedtoaligningitscorecurriculumtothehighestoccupationalstandardscurrentlyavailable,andisactivelypursuingaccreditationviaexternalaccreditingbodies.

ExternalAccreditationalsolaysafoundationformoreformalrecognitionofEFTasarespectedcomplementarymodality.ItalsoopensthedoortobuildingallianceswithotherEFTorganisationstohelpcreateformaloccupationalstandardsforEFTtrainingandpractice.

EFTInternationalisstrivingtocreaterobustteachingstandardsbycontinuingtorefinetheMasterTrainerprogramme,syllabiandcompetenciesandbycontinuouslyimprovingallourtrainingmaterials.
