April, when light rains occur, and the wet season, from May to October,

when the temporales , or heavy rains, fall.

● The climate is warm, with an annual average maximum of 90° and an

average minimum of 64° F. The average temperature at San Salvador is

72° F in January and 73° F in July.

Pupusas is one of El Salvador’s most famous dishes. It is composed of :

tortillas stuffed with cheese, cooked ground pork, refried beans, and loroco (

vine flour bud)

Soup composed of feet of cows, plantains, corn,

tomatoes, cabbage, and seasoning of your

choice, also can include bananas and green

beans. Can be compared to gumbo New

Tamales are known around the world. El

Salvador is known for the different types of

tamales that are available. Tamales can be

composed of corn dough which can be stuffed

with meat or sweet corn, served in plantain

leaves

Horchata

Horchata is a non alcoholic drink composed of

morro seed, water, vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon,

and coca. It is usually served with ice but can be

served hot. It is known as milky texture drink,

which also can be spicy.

Coconut water

Many will pick up a coconut and chop the top

off and drink the juices out with a straw
