Ethos of Reach Out Recovery – Culture Change

When will there be a day programme like the good old days?????

All F.O.R. Materials can be delivered in Groups (or Pods, or 1:1)…..

There is also a wide variety of activities and groups at Scala, Park House & Summerhill or

in the community…..

So you can create a bespoke programme of your own…..

Culture Change

Making Memories to be proud of.

Fundraising for events.

Supporting the “Voyage of Recovery” project.

Sending representatives to the Strategic Commissioning Group, Scrutiny Group, West Midlands Recovery Forum, AdFam and others.

Promoting the forum through social media.

Holding service providers to account and relaying information to the individual or groups who have expressed concerns.

Culture Change

HiJust a bit of feedback about my day with one of our Recovery Coaches, James, who shadowed me today on a community 1:1, a home visit and (unexpectedly) a brief 1:1 in shared care surgery. A really positive experience for myself and the people that we saw. It was noticeable that two of them opened up, just that little bit more with James there and I am already planning who to introduce James to next! I can see the potential for encouraging some of my more resistant people to at least consider the possibility of engaging with some of the support networks available, where they might say yes to me and really mean “shut up Nigel and give me my script!”.

Who knows, maybe this Reach Out Recovery thing can really work?! Today I am closer to believing that than at any time previously.

Cheers

Nigel Lavender (currently on a 10!!!!)Recovery Coordinator

Just catching up on my notes today.

It was really good to have James with me today - I felt he made a really different. Only three clients came in this afternoon but James was able to relate to all and they really opened up to him and appreciated him being there. I also learned a lot from James in the short time in which we spend together.

I will leave some positive feedback probably tomorrow now - but if James is free to come out again next Tuesday afternoon i'd really appreciate it.

Many Thanks Matt
