EMOJIS ARE AWESOME!

You may have seen these...

And these have just

been announced

You may rely heavily in some...

...and you may have never used others.

But do you know the origin, evolution and

importance of Emojis?

The word is an acronym from

"picture word" in Japanese.

Emojis were created in Japan, out of necessity from a company to differentiate their pager or beepers in a highly competitive landscape.

Born in the 90’s

A tool is just a tool!A hammer is a tool that can be used for good or for bad, but that doesn’t mean the tool is inherently bad. The fact that you use a hammer doesn’t mean that you are weak, or that you are weakening your strength, or that you are going to hurt someone.

The same happens with smartphones. Smartphones are a tool, that does not necessarily make you a fool. They can be used to enhance your connectivity, entertainment, business and more.

Emojis are a tool to facilitate expressing emotions. it does not mean you are “emotion-less”.

The fact that some people think emojis are making us dumb, represents, to me, our culture’s inability to cope with change. and to keep thinking that the past was always better.

Emojis, are a tool, as much as a hammer, a smartphone or a wristwatch. And they are not a tool that replaces language. But rather a tool that’s aimed at facilitating communication in a limited and mobile medium.

An emoji can be worth at least four to eight words

This is my personal Whatsapp status update. Which doesn't mean that I;m a heavy lifter, obviously, but that I practice bicycle strongly.

And EMojis are also all-inclusive.

Good luck! Gay Propaganda

And please stop saying technology is causing social

isolation

Some may argue emojis are making us dumb, in the way that technology or smartphones are making us dependant on mobile devices. I don't agree and I hope after seeing this presentation you change your mind about technology.

Because if this is what you are seeing

You are only seeing half the picture

TECHNOLOGY IS AUGMENTING

REAL INTERACTION

EMBRACE IT

EMBRACE EMOJIS
