THERE ARE TWO PRIMARY FACTORS THAT DRIVE EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT. THESE FACTORS ARE BASED ON STATISTICAL ANALYSIS AND WIDELY
SUPPORTED BY INDUSTRY RESEARCH.

WHAT WERE THE BARRIERS ?AS THE COMPANY GREW IN SIZE, IT FACED AN UNEXPECTED PROBLEM OF EMPLOYEES FEELING THAT THEIR
VOICES WEREN’T BEING HEARD IN THE ORGANIZATION AND HENCE FELT LEFT OUT AND DEMOTIVATED. DUE TO THIS THE SATISFACTION AND ENGAGEMENT LEVELS OF THE EMPLOYEES STARTED DROPPING.
WHAT DID THE COMPANY DO?TO COUNTERACT THIS PROBLEM, TCS CONDUCTED A PULSE SURVEY. THIS ENABLED THE ORGANISATION TO ADOPT A PROCESS IMPROVEMENT APPROACH, WHEREBY INITIATIVES, PROGRAMMES AND CHANGES WERE
TARGETED AND SPECIFIC TO IMPROVE ACCORDING TO THE FEEDBACK OF THE EMPLOYEES. PLANS WERE DEVISED ACCORDINGLY TO THE TAILORED REQUIREMENTS OF THE VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS.
THIS IS EMPHASIZED IN THE CEO’S ANNUAL KEYNOTE SPEECH AND KNOWN IN THE TCS CULTURE AS THE “YOU SAID IT…WE DID IT!” CAMPAIGN.
WHAT DID THE COMPANY DO RIGHT? THEY PROVIDED THEM WITH BETTER CAREER DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES, A BETTER
WORK ENVIRONMENT, AND GENERALLY ENRICHING THEIR PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. IT HELPED BOTH THE EMPLOYEES AND COMPANY TO GROW.
WHERE DID IT HAPPEN? STUDIES WERE CONDUCTED BY TATA CONSULTANCY SERVICES GLOBALLY, BUT THEY WERE FOCUSED ON DETERMINING AND UNDERSTANDING EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT IN AUSTRALIA
AND NEW ZEALAND.
MODELTHE MODEL USED BY TCS IS THAT OF THE SUPPORT MODEL WHICH EMPHASISES ON LEADERSHIP . FACTORS WHICH HAVE
FOUND TO HAVE AN IMPACT ON THE ORGANIZATION ARE LEADERS WHO INSPIRE CONFIDENCE IN THE FUTURE, MANAGERS WHO RECOGNIZE EMPLOYEES AND MOBILIZE THEIR TEAMS FOR PEAK PERFORMANCE, EXCITING WORK
AND THE OPPORTUNITY TO IMPROVE SKILLS AND ORGANISATIONS WHO DEMONSTRATE A GENUINE RESPONSIBILITY TO THEIR EMPLOYEES AND COMMUNITIES.
YEARTHE STUDIES WERE CONDUCTED FIRST BETWEEN 2012 AND 2013, THEN THEY WERE CONTINUED FROM 2013 TO 2014.TO
MEASURE THE EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT OF THE COMPANY THE RESEARCHERS USED THE PULSE SURVEY
