DGNB – an effective managment system forsustainable design and building in difficult markets
an assessment system for sustainable building does not only serve a certification scheme for the building quality, but is effective as a management tool in the process towards the achievement of enhanced qualities.
Especially in markets with a less organised structure and intransparentdesign- and building delivery processes a green building assessment scheme is useful to implement and to secure the intended qualities.
The DGNB system does facilitate the compehensive performance through the entire duration of a building delivery process and beyond.

Sustainable Development Goals in the building sector
The DGNB supports the UN
objectives and wants to encourage
others to make a tangible and
positive contribution to achieving
these targets through certification.
To link sustainable building
methods to the SDGs and
engender transparency, we have
examined all our criteria in Version
2018 and their relevance to the UN
goals and ensured they are
demonstrable accordingly.
