“When you teach a child something you take away forever his chance of discovering it for himself.” - Jean Piaget
OUR MISSION IS TO ENGAGE, EMPOWER AND ENTERTAIN TEENS EVERYWHERE!
Enterteenment is a media and lifestyle brand, dedicated to engaging, empowering and entertaining teens
everywhere. It encourages self-realization and development of one’s potential, talents and interests through
self-directed discovery and experiential learning. Enterteenment connects teens with their peers, community,
products and inspiration they need to navigate their everyday lives, milestones and plan for their future.
Selected annually from high schools across the nation, Enterteenment columnists receive credits for their work
from The Thorne Scholarship Program. Students who adhere to our editorial calendar will earn about $5,000
in scholarship funds. Enterteenment’s writers receive training and coaching, participate in discussions with
industry professionals, receive products to sample, invitations and have access to exclusive events. Serving as a
teen columnist requires a major commitment and thoughtful work. As official writers for Enterteenment, columnists
earn more than scholarship funds: they also gain invaluable experience and set an indelible example as role
models to their peers.
“…writing for Enterteenment has been one of the best experiences because it has
given me a chance to test out a possible future, while doing something I love.”
- Chloe Anello, Teen Girl’s Fashion Columnist

I’m Kenneth and I was born and raised in Beantown (Boston). My
hobbies include writing, playing soccer, sailing, and rowing. I have
always had an interest in fashion because I enjoy watching
networks like Bravo and MTV. My dream is to dress as fashionably
as the guys in GQ magazine. I enjoy traveling, studying French and
received a scholarship to study abroad in Strasbourg, France. I look
forward to finding the latest in men’s fashion and grooming!

Amal, a senior in high school, began writing at a normal age. Yet, a
few years later, she discovered that she loved reading more than
writing. After re-reading every book in her school library, Amal
decided that what she needed to do was to not take
recommendations about the coolest books ever but provide them.
Joining Enterteenment as a columnist in 2012, Amal writes reviews
worth reading.

Hey guys, I’m your advice columnist! I go to boarding school in
Massachusetts, but I was born, raised and reside in Jamaica. As the
youngest of a big family with a huge extended family, I was
exposed to all types of people, which is how I learned the value of
tolerance and empathy. My high school friends come from all
different backgrounds with their own special stories. These all fed
into my desire to explore a variety of cultures and perspectives,
and share what I’ve experienced so far.

My name is Sean, and I am an 18-year old writer from Easton. I
have been with Enterteenment since December 2011. I love all types
of writing, including columns, blogs, fiction, and even the occasional
essay. Other than writing, my hobby is football and I have been
playing since 2003. I am a football captain, starting offensive
tackle and defensive end, and three-year varsity letterman for the
Oliver Ames Tigers. It is because of my experience that I am so
enthused to cover high school and college sports for Enterteenment.

I’m your Giving Back columnist! I was born and raised in MA. I
developed an interest in community service and volunteer work
through my school clubs and non-profit organizations such as the
Red Cross, Invisible Children and the China Care Foundation. In
addition, I also volunteer at the Museum of Fine Arts where I serve
as a Visitors Aid Specialist. When I’m not volunteering I enjoy
hanging out with my friends, writing, badminton and cooking. I
hope to help enrich your own community service experiences!

I live in NY and I am a junior at a small boarding school in CT, and
for anyone curious it is nothing like Hogwarts or Zoey 101. I’m on
Varsity Field Hockey and Lacrosse, and my two favorite subjects
are English and History. I really enjoy fashion and took classes at
the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. I love
spending my time in the city. Writing for Enterteenment has been
one of the best experiences because it has given me a chance to
test out a possible future, while doing something I love.

Manal is a senior in high school. She enjoys spending whatever time
she has left over from school and other activities (which is close to
nothing) playing video games and having beastly debates about
the world. While she won’t admit that she is the best gamer in the
world, she (in her mind) comes pretty close to it. She is also a self-
proclaimed artist, and loves to draw other people’s faces – at their
request. And yes, her twin writes a column on the site too. THE END.

1,000 AUDITIONS . 10 REGIONS . 10 FINALISTS . 1 WINNER
Enterteenment is thrilled to announce production is now underway on Sound Off, a teen vocal competition that
will begin by featuring ten talented teenagers from across New England. The first regional competition
premiers March 2013 on CBS’ myTV38. The show's innovative format features challenges which will prepare
the vocalists for the life of a professional recording artist. Ten finalists from across the country will star in a
national competition having earned their spots as the absolute best teen vocalists in the USA.
WHAT MAKES SOUND OFF DIFFERENT?
Sound Off will take its audience into the lives of ordinary
teens with big dreams. It is a platform for teen stardom.
No more convention centers, massive theaters,
redundant sets and repetitive backdrops. Sound Off will
highlight each region’s local businesses and authentic
flare. Viewers will experience each region’s unique
culture, offerings and sound. The New England cast will receive voice lessons courtesy
of Boston’s Bristol Studios. Choreography will be taught
by East Boston’s Phunk Phenomenon of MTV’s America’s
Best Dance Crew. The National Music Directors are
Quincy-based Producers, Mike Caputo and Lü Balz of
Music Ball/Soul Diggaz, who have produced hit songs for
Diddy, Beyonce, Britney Spears, Missy Elliot and LFO to
name a few. Mike and Lü will tap into their network to
bring the best industry pros to each regional competition.
All participants will have a chance to shine! Making it
as a top three semi-finalist guarantees a makeover and
an original single cut by the best. Makeovers will be
styled by Michelle McCormack, Producer of FNO Boston
and CMO of Fashion Project. Any teen who wants to
develop their talent be they cast or viewer can tap into
the professional pool of resources we have highlighted
in their very own community. 19
