Findings: Student Survey

• 62% (n 57) students had personally encountered problems with teaching and learning situations which were specifically related to their needs as a disabled learner.

• 50% (n 28) said this was due to failure to supply lecture notes/ other materials in advance.

• A few dyslexic respondents found that some staff were 'suspicious’ that the condition did not exist or is not as limiting as put forward.

– Delivering dedicated training and staff development

– Developing management processes to support staff in developing an inclusive approach to teaching

– Creating an inclusive teaching website resource

Findings: Staff Survey

• More than 66% of (n 87) respondents review their curriculum regularly for inclusion, ask students for feedback and know how to respond to inappropriate language and behaviour

• Awareness of our university and key external resources was very low

• 87% would like an online resource
