Celebrating winning strokes with thSachin 100 Ton!
thSachin 100 Ton is not just an individual's
extraordinary achievement but the pride of our
entire country. This was celebrated at Hosur on
17th March, 2012. We at ERL are inspired by
Sachin's total commitment, dedication,
determination, intense focus and single minded
devotion. He has raised the bench mark for other
sportsmen and now they have a higher ideal to live
up to. However, what makes him shine even
brighter is that despite achieving all the fame and
success, he is supremely human.
He can be a role model for everyone in personal
as well as official life. Hats off to Sachin Tendulkar
for his "Century of Centuries" As Amithabh
Bachhan has put it rightly," India can breathe

ERL participated in “Tanzania Tradex-2012”
Exhibtion held in Dar - Es - Salaam, from 9th March
to 11th March, 2012. This was a huge exhibition
that covered a wide spectrum of products from the
Food, Medical Equipment and Engineering
industries. However, though it was not specifically
focused on Electrical Engineering or sub- station
equipment, it did help us connect with prospective
customers.
The participatation proved quite rewarding and
we were able to interact with organizations like
TANLEC and Power Techniques who are in T&D
equipment business with TANESCO, the local
power utility. We have presented our range of
products to them and expressed our keenness to
associate with them. We have also interacted with
ERL shines at Tanzania Trade Exhibition
organizations in Kenya and Uganda, namely
Power Techniques at Nairobi and International
Energy Technik (Kampala). Both of them have
presence in Ethiopia too.
We are sure that this will bring us plenty of
business to ERL.
Making a new breakthrough is always exciting!
Recently, ERL Mint (ERL Marketing International)
won major order from Yasmeen, Dubai for 500
pieces of Test block type ERMLG. The scope of
work includes supply ex-works. This was won
against tough competition
Our USP that helped us win was that our products
are technically on par with Siemens, Alstom and
ABB, and our attractive pricing. This value-for-
money approach was appreciated by the new
client and we were given the order.
We congratulate our ERL Mint team.
ERL wins major new
order from Dubai!
Excellence in
retrofitting at Sharjah!ERL has recently taken up a retrofitting project for
Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA).
The scope of work was replacing in old electro-
mechanical relays of erstwhile Reyrolle UK with
modern and more efficient ERL Aux and Numerical
relays.
This was quite a huge order consisting of 64 nos of
AR, TR, XR, 5B3, ERMLG and MIT104 & 121. The
work was completed in April, 2012, and the
advantage is that customers will get a new lease of
life for protection panels. There is also great
potential for more such assignments from the same
client as 4-5 such substations are under
consideration for replacement.

ERL awarded prestigious project in Kenya!
We have bagged a prestigious order for a 33KV
Control and Relay Panels(CRP) with Sub Station
Automation(SAS) from Kenya Power and Lighting
Company through Etrade Co. Limited, Nairobi,
Kenya. The order consists of 2 Transformer Panels
and 3 Line Panels . This was an existing customer
whom we have built up a relationship through
executing small orders and have now graduated
to a big one.
The scope of work includes Supply of CRP and
SAS, Commissioning and Training. We had to
face stiff competition from ABB besides other
Chinese and Indian contractors. It was a difficult
proposition especially since the requirement
involved SAS and we also wanted to get the ERL
Phase Power Technologies, Canada, approved.
We developed a sound strategy after a lot of
deliberation. We made product presentations
twice to KPLC and carefully observed how the Sub-
station was designed and managed. We assured
them extended training and projected ERL as a
customer friendly company despite being an
Indian Multinational Company.
Our USP that brought the customer to us was that
we tailored our expertise to suit customer needs.
We understood the pulse of the customer and
achieved customer satisfaction through our
approach where we helped them feel at ease by
listening to them. The order is expected to be
completed by September 2012.
We congratulate the entire ERL Mint team.
ERL's Tesla Recorders in demand at Latin America
ERLPhase in Latin America has been giving a
strong thrust to promote Tesla Recorders and has
been quite successful. We are currently working
with several OEMs to integrate recorders into
some of their upcoming projects. We have
successfully done this at ALSTOM-Brazil and GE-
Brazil.
ABB-Peru has now incorporated the TESLA
recorder into a generation application at the
Machupicchu Hydroelectric Power Plant in the
mountainous southern region of the country.
Construction here is part of a phased project that
will create sustainable generation, in an area
where a gorge slide in 1998 buried much of a
hydroelectric plant. The tremendous natural
cultural and archaeological heritage here calls for
development plans where environmental
responsibility and social impact feature
prominently.
ABB-Peru will also install a TESLA at REP-ISA, the
main transmission company in Peru. ABB is very
happy with the high quality of our products, and
prompt technical support backed up by a good
warranty policy. They also showed us their panel
shop, where several projects are underway,
including a 500kV transmission line application,
where ERLPhase recorders would be a good fit.
Mr. Michael Terrones, Project Manager of Power
Systems at ABB-Peru, expressed satisfaction with
the performance of ERLPhase recorders find them
easy to configure and values the important
information provided by the equipment to help
operators monitor several dynamics of this power
system.
We thank Hugo Davila, P.E. (ERLPhase Sales and
Technical Support for Latin America) and his team
for the ongoing excellent support to this customer.
We are sure they are going to bring us many more
credits.
