Es Alegria is a high yielding conventional variety with consistent performance across a wide range of
sites. It is the earliest variety to harvest and in the barn before other varieties have even started being
harvested. This allows time to prepare good stale seedbeds to control resistant blackgrass and bromes,
optimises the drilling of following crops and allows a spread of harvest dates for large growers.
With a good disease resistance profile, excellent autumn and spring vigour and an early harvest date
Alegria is a firm favourite on farm.
Es Alegria Breeder: Euralis
Earliest variety to harvest Superb resistance to Verticilium
Excellent autumn vigour High Oil Content
Multi-gene Resistance to Phoma Good Light Leaf Spot resistance
Excellent Spring vigour ahead of many hybrids
Trinity
2 WEEKS LATER
TO HARVEST
Most of the ADHB Recommended varieties have a maturity score of 5 or 6 and are 2 weeks later to
mature than Alegria, creating a potential clash with wheat harvest and putting pressure on the
drilling of following crops.

Work by Claas has shown that combines can cut 1.25ha/hour in
standing crops compared to 0.75ha/hour in lodged crops.
Quality is often reduced in lodged crops due to uneven dry down
of seed, sprouting and seed loss through shedding.

Es Alegria has multigene resistance to all known races of
Phoma/Stem Canker. In addition Alegria has the advantage of rapid
early plant growth which extends the distance the fungus has to grow
through the plant to infect the stem base, reducing disease impact.
