so finally I get a much needed new car. A rather sexy little Fiat 500 in 'new age cream', or to the rest of us... beige. Anyway, now everyone's got one #yawn. I still love it though if not simply for
the economic benefits. After tanking around in a very thirsty 4x4 for years the novelty of now being refused any more than £40 in fuel at the pump continues to force my face to produce a slightly psychotic grin every time I do it. Oh wonder of wonders, who cares if you resemble the colour of hospital food, I love you my beige beauty. My only minor irritation being the significantly reduced amount of respect I get on the road by being in a little car. I find that 4x4 drivers are the worst for rude and belligerent driving. Did I just say that? Just as long as they appreciate that small things may contain nuts, then that's fine.
I have taken my consuming thoughts of all things new and possible to theme this edition of EM magazine. Isabella visits New York and lives the dream at fashion week. Dee checks out a bundle of hot new products designed for every model like you, see page 19. We serve you a good portion of health and fitness insider tips and Fay pushes ahead with creative photography for newborns. Babies are such a nice way to start people... don't you think?
Oh and I am now cigarette free. See my my slightly unusual tips for quitting smoking on page 06. If I can do it, anyone can. It really has been a strong start to a new year with positive results. The Deane is back, stronger, healthier and thankfully no less nuttier. "Qui audet adipiscitur." Who dares wins readers. Stay SASsy.

SMOK NGmost unfashionable
thing to do
By Ruthie D
As a young teenager in the 1980's I fell into the predictable trap
of peer pressure, tried a cigarette to impress one of the 'cool
kids' and before I knew it, I was addicted. And nothing appals
me more than slotting into such a stereotypical typecast. yuk.
So, after quitting for a few years to have my children I once again returned to the dreaded weed using, "I am
going through a difficult time" as my excuse for it. But I have now quit, and this time I really hope it's for good. How have I managed to do that? Not with will power alone I can assure you. We all have stress in our lives and mine is no exception. That being the most commonly used excuse for not kicking the habit and one I am guilty of using many times. "Oh now is not the right time, I have too much going on." NOW will never be the right time. There will always be something that
you can latch onto in order to self justify that quitting a drug isn't the best thing to do right now.
With the help of electronic cigarettes Skycigs, smelly candles and altering my habits a little, I have managed to now successfully remain tobacco free. And if I can do it, anyone can. I had a little help from the Cole, who gave me a few harsh but blush worthy words which had a profound effect on my success in quitting.
Eloquently put Coleman, but received and understood. Many thanks. Not that I think I'm beautiful, but if a former Miss England thinks I am... I'll take it!
You’ve probably heard the rumours that many actresses and models smoke in order to stay thin. The media often catches the most popular celebrities smoking, which appears to add validity to this argument. So the question is, does smoking make you lose weight? Do I think that the reason I have remained like a stick insect all my adult life is down to smoking? No I do not.
Nicotine has been shown to be an appetite suppressant. Therefore it is claimed that the more you smoke, the less hungry you are supposed to feel. Well that was never the case for me. In fact it was the reverse. I won't argue with the science bit. If nicotine is shown to be an appetite suppressant
then I accept that. But it genuinely didn't work like that for me. I found smoking on an empty stomach far less pleasant than after eating. So for the most part I would eat something twenty times a day in order to have a better experience with my next cigarette. Therefore I clearly consumed more whilst smoking than when not. I certainly haven't put on any weight since quitting and my appetite is unchanged. The positives of no longer smoking and food does include the ability to taste what I am eating now. Food is much more appetising and smells better. But my stomach is the same size as it was and can contain the same amount. Giving up smoking doesn't make your stomach grow and NEED more food to fill it. Eating sensibly and in line with our own metabolism and lifestyle is as much a choice as smoking. So I personally do not accept the concept that smoking keeps you thin. Maintaining a healthy body weight is down to how much food you put in your mouth, what kind of food you put in it and a healthy balance of exercise and common sense.
The biggest plus points for me in quitting are both physical and psychological. I have two small children who mean everything to me. I don't want to die and leave them without a mother because I chose to smoke. Smoking is a choice, just like any drug. Ok, so when addicted it isn't as easy as that. But what is easy exactly? Raising children, earning a living,

I'm not big on the whole, choose a specific day to quit theory. I found that this put extra pressure on me and made me anxious. It was like an expectation which in turn just made me smoke more. Get to the stage where you really want to quit and if necessary cut down before cutting it out completely. Be careful not to take too long about that though or you will end up increasing your intake. Find a balance that suits YOU. Some people prefer to opt for the 'cold turkey' method. I am not a turkey lover, so it wasn't an option for me. But for some it works, so don't rule it out.
Remind yourself as often as you want as to why you will be better off without cigarettes.
• Muchbetterhealthandlessriskofserious smoking related illnesses.
• Betterskin(and less chance of looking like a lizard in your later years). •Moreenergy.•Asweetersmellingenvironment, clothes, car.•Nomorestandingoutsideinthe freezing cold getting your 'fix' whilst leaving your friends indoors talking about you... Ha!
I constantly lit a beautifully smelling candle such as this one by Jonathan Ward London, Josephine’s Rose. This I would say significantly helped me to give up the fags. The scent is amazing making my surroundings smell so beautiful that
I was constantly reminded of how disgusting it must have smelt when I smoked. We all know smoking smells vile and hangs around on furniture and clothes, but during the first few weeks of giving up it is difficult to tell. So using a candle like this can give you a sense of hope, achievement and a physical reminder of the immediate and long term benefits.
in fact LIVING is often not EASY. I hear many people who tell me they have an 'addictive personality'. What TF does that mean? Pardon my abbreviation. It means that the concept of being weak and easily swayed has now been given a TITLE in which to self justify. Ludicrous.
And if you take a look at older people around you who smoke, their skin is generally speaking similar to that of a lizard skin handbag. Deep wrinkles, sallow in colour and pinched skin around the lips from years of drawing on the stick they had no choice in.
I would hope not to become a hideously mouthy reformed smoker. I detest that. And I cannot guarantee I won't return to the habit in the future. All the reasons I give here for quitting, choice and self justification may set me up for hypocrisy. But that will be my choice. And one I really hope for the sake of myself and my loved ones I do not revert to. But if by writing this I can prevent someone from starting to smoke, or encourage another to quit, then I will have at the very least achieved that.
Smoking - don't do it. You will end up a wrinkly smelly hag with no friends.

Use the many available aids available to you such as electronic cigarettes, patches, inhalators and free NHS services designed to offer individual support and advice. Everyone is different so what suits one may not suit another. You must also ensure by checking with your doctor that any existing health issues or medications you may take do not conflict with any of the aids available to help you.
Whilst not ignoring your smoking friends, in the first stages of quitting smoking it may be best to avoid situations that involve smoking. Such as parties at smokers houses or events with outside smoking areas when the weather is fine. If you have no option but to be in the presence of smokers, bang on about how amazing you are for quitting - they will soon leave you on your own.

In all seriousness, smoking is a killer. It ruins your looks, controls your daily life, costs a fortune, turns your fingers and teeth brown, makes you smell, and in 2013 it is quite possibly THE most unfashionable thing you can do.

T his year I started a degree course in Fashion Communications and Public Relations at Northumbria University. During my course and alongside
working with EM Magazine I have experienced an internship at London Fashion Week, visited Ralph Lauren’s menswear head office in New York to check out their upcoming collection, seen models on one of the most famous catwalks in the world and attended a fashion presentation in New York. How amazing is my life?
When I arrived in NYC it was just like I’d pictured it; and just how Jay Z described it, ‘A concrete jungle where dreams are made.’ Greeted by car horns, flashing lights and those oh so welcoming American voices. Wasting no time, I headed straight to Soho hungry to explore famous places in the city reputed to hold so many opportunities. Whether it be the puppies on sale in a shop window just like in Sex and the City, or tall apartment buildings indicative of our favourite characters from Friends, it just felt magical.
My days in New York were packed as full as an aspiring model's handbag. In the city that never sleeps it was almost certain that getting my head down could wait until I got back to England. Breakfast New York style every morning and grabbing a 'coffee to go' ensued the feeling of - could food really taste this good?
Research of course meant checking out the famous department stores such as Bloomingdales, Macy’s and Selfridges and erm... SHOPPING, followed by a visit to Central Park. Decidedly the best way to see it is on the world famous horse drawn carts which was fantastic.
In the evening when the lights take over a must in NYC is Times Square. With so many lights, tall buildings, Disney characters walking up to shake your hand, it’s a magnificent sight and once seen forever remembered.
I had been invited to the Ralph Lauren Head Office to see the new menswear collection before it hit the runway. Walking into the marble floored lobby I felt like Anne Hathaway in The Devil Wears Prada stepping into the office of Meryl Streep as the scary Miranda Priestley/
Ruthie Deane. It was like opening up a new Ralph Lauren catalogue and stepping into it. Dark wooden panelled walls, with huge marble monuments around every corner. As I sat in reception ten steps away from where the main man’s business partner was sitting discussing the new themes with colleagues, I was there, bewildered, in a state of complete awe. When I was summoned to visit the collection, I took a mental picture of the whole experience to store on my in-head SD card, I wanted to remember this forever.
On the Saturday of my visit I went to Studio 548 to view the new Porsche Designs fashion installation. This was my chance to experience a show at New York Fashion Week whilst also diving head first into the NYC social world. And boy did I do that. One minute I was standing next to a GQ writer and then a Teen Vogue intern. We swapped details - this is networking big style. It is a lifestyle I could get easily used to. If had more time to visit other high profile fashion shows in New York, I would have done. But I guess everyone starts somewhere. More, more... please... this is just so exciting!
One last detail of New York that I must mention was a trip to Brooklyn. There was to be a new magazine launch in a warehouse just across the bridge and the night was crazy. The music, the people, and the venue - wow! But it was a different kind of fabulous. Not the NYC socialite kind. It was low key. The guys were wearing beanie hats, some had dreadlocks and the girls wore boys t-shirts, with a clever feminine twist and teamed it up wearing Doc Martens. It was a living definition of ‘cool’ for sure.
My week in New York City at Fashion Week was one I will never forget. Once I got my bearings and didn’t need to use the map on the last two days, it was great – I felt like I belonged. But as Valerie Hite on twitter said, ‘To be a New Yorker you have to live here for six months and if, at the end of the six months, you find you walk faster, talk faster and think faster, you’re a New Yorker’.
I have a long way to go, but I’ll take that journey any day.

time flies when you’re having fun; I cannot believe it’s been six months already since I got married and in the past eight weeks alone my work has taken me to lA, Ethiopia and dubai.
Some of you may have even read the features we shot there with Tamara Ecclestone and Melanie Sykes in Hello! Magazine or
watched the behind-the-scenes videos I shot on the Hello! Website. Travelling is a very privileged aspect of my work. I have worked on locations in my wildest dreams I never envisaged I would see. And for me, experiencing different cultures is something quite spectacular for your soul.
I consider myself a rather spiritual person who lives life following gut intuition. Since I got married I appreciate everything more now than ever, trying to not to take for granted the little things in life that maybe I did before. When you adapt an attitude like this, you may find like me, things start to become clearer and more evident of the life you want to live. Recently I’ve really opened my heart up to where I am in life and what I want to achieve, even if it’s just for the next five years even. It doesn’t suit everyone to live life like that but I have to set myself a goal, I’m not someone who can plod through life waiting for things to happen, if I want it then I want it now. The scary thing I find, no matter how morbid it may sound, is how quickly life drifts away. Time will never wait for you and sometimes it doesn’t hurt to adapt the motto, if we wait until we’re ready, we’ll be waiting for the rest of our lives.
A memorable experience for me will always be last year visiting the Camillian Home in Thailand. It is an orphanage and day care centre for some of the most poorly treated and severely disabled children in Thailand. Through my work with Miss London I managed to secure a
fAy l HIll
significant donation for the home, which as I saw first-hand was greatly appreciated by all. More than just the obvious feelings of having such an experience, my Camillian Home trip resurrected my ambition to work with children.
In the words of one of my icons, Audrey Hepburn, ‘I was born with an enormous need for affection, and a terrible need to give it.’ I so believe in these words. I am this person. If I choose to love, I love with everything. It is my enormous need to love that sheds light on a new project I have started with the fabulous London-based baby photographer, Andrea Bourne.
My love for anything miniature started when I was very young. I was the annoying(I like to believe endearing) little girl asking random Mums in the café how their birth was whilst bouncing their baby on my knee! This inquisitiveness for anything baby related has never left me. I’ve always had a natural maternal
instinct and a yearning somewhere to pursue a life in teaching or caring for the young. With this in mind, it’s a reasonable question to ask, how I find myself in the job I do? Let’s be honest, it doesn’t appear to go hand-in-hand with the ‘Save The World Fay’ picture I am creating. In this case, I should add my huge passion for beauty, fashion, photography and celebrities too. I believe my job has given me the opportunity to fulfill all of these passions, plus teach, create and nurture in a different way. However, meeting Andrea has made me realise there is still a way to combine the valuable skills I have learned and pursue an unachieved ambition. We are calling it ‘FayAndrea’ and it is my opportunity to work with newborn babies.
FayAndrea will be a style of photography from newborns to juniors. Andrea and I recognise the development and change in our young youth culture, and the effect the worldwide media
has had on them. This shift needs to be reflected in photography so both the child and parent can feel proud of a piece of wall art which is totally different tothestandard(though still beautiful) ‘white background, hold your teddy and say, “cheese”’ type of shot.
I am not claiming to be the next Alan Strutt. I am just confident I will capture treasurable life moments in a fashion that will justify parents paying for a photoshoot. My knowledge of this industry continues to be that there are people out there doing this just for the money and to see how much of it they can make. For me, it’s a passion. I love my job and I want to continue to develop my photography business in other areas. Wish me luck?!

Every Model Magazine catches up with Miss England winner Charlotte Holmes.
When
RUTHIE D: How does it feel to be Miss England then? We've been watching you over the years
here at EM and seeing you win the crown you were obviously overwhelmed. It was fantastic. I was totally overwhelmed and not expecting it at all. Just totally thrilled that all my hard work had paid off.
Photograhy: Charlie Kaufman
RUTHIE D: Which of your fabulous trips away won as part of your amazing Miss England prizes have you
enjoyed the most? Oh I couldn't pick just one. Mauritius was beautiful; I have family from there so to finally visit the island was a dream come true. Then Thailand was incredible, mum and I had the most amazing time; from feeding and washing elephants to relaxing on the beach in Khao Lak. I can't wait to go back.
...I have the Paris half marathon coming up;
I’m running to raise funds for the Naked Heart Foundation.“ ”

15 Every Model Magazine
RUTHIE D: In the contest you have been supported a great
deal by people such as the photographer of your shoot with us this edition, Charlie Kaufman. How important to you has his support been? I have had tremendous support from so many people throughout my years, not only in the Miss England competition, but as a model. It is so heart-warming to know that you have genuine love and support from so many different people and all you are doing is the job that you love.
RUTHIE D: As a former Britain's Next Top Model finalist how
does a TV model search differ from the Miss England contest? They're totally different. BINTM is a model search; the Miss England competition is looking for an all rounder to represent England and various charities for a whole year. You have to be a confident public speaker and passionate about fundraising.
RUTHIE D: Tell us a bit about your month trip away competing
at the Miss World final. What a fabulous opportunity. I was actually away for six weeks. So it was a very long and tiring trip, but it was one of the most memorable experiences of my life and something I will be able to tell my grandchildren. I feel extremely privileged to have been able to compete at such a prestigious, long standing event and represent my country.
RUTHIE D: What do you think you will take away with you as your biggest
memory from your time as Miss England? I still have four months left, so I'm very much looking forward to seeing what is still to come. I've been lucky enough to do some amazing things so far. I've jumped out of a plane with the Red Devils, I've driven a Ferrari around a track for Variety GB. I have the Paris half marathon coming up; I'm running with the Natalia Vodianovas Guerlian team for The Naked Heart Foundation. I'll be running the London marathon in April and then competing in Tough Mudder in May in aid of Help for Heroes. I am also going to Dubai in April for a St. Georges day celebration. So lots to still look forward to.
RUTHIE D: What advice can you offer aspiring models to cut it in our
highly competitive industry? Failure isn't an option if you never stop trying. And a smile costs nothing.
RUTHIE D: What are your future plans after handing over your crown in June?
I'm very positive about the future and am looking forward to working hard at getting my presenting career off the ground properly and continue with modelling. I'm with a great agency, MOT Models, and I can't wait to get back to work with them. I'm lucky enough to love what I do. So getting out of bed every morning is a joy!

Eyelash extensionsMy first set of eyelash extensions were a disaster, I bought them from groupon and sat with the technician for nearly three hours whilst having my poor eyelashes plucked and pulled at...
thankfully my experience at Perfect Eyelashes was quite the opposite. Based in Kensington I was
greeted by self-confessed eyelash extension perfectionist and Perfect Eyelashes director Agnes Dos Santos. who went through a mini-consultation to discuss the type of look I was after and the type of lash I preferred. I went for diamond lashes and a natural look to add more volume rather than length. If you’re stuck for ideas there’s a book full of beautiful eyelashes from
previous clients for inspiration. Master technician Agnes applied over 80 lashes individually onto my lashes, I was really impressed with how lightweight the diamond lashes were, they were soft, felt natural and the glue was barely noticeable. The application took about an hour and a half whilst having a lay down on the massage bed. The application was painless, so much so that I fell asleep.
Aftercare is also really simple, just don’t get your lashes wet for the first 24 hours and give them a

littlebrush(which Perfect Lashes provide) to keep them looking their best. The lashes lasted around six weeks and fell out naturally with my own lashes without leaving any bald patches. I’d definitely recommend the diamond lashes if you want a lash that looks and feels natural. Also if you're like me and hate taking off your mascara at the end of the day, lash extensions are the solution, they have the natural look of mascara without any clumping or flakiness.
Touch ups are required between every three to six weeks if you want to maintain the look. Prices start from £80 with a technician, on the pricey side but certainly great quality lashes. Even better new clients can claim a £10 voucher to redeem against any treatments (Tuesday – Thursday) at the Kensington salon.

ultIMAtE brAAfter getting over the shock of perhaps being slightly larger than
a 32DD, I totally absorbed myself into a gentle yoga workout to see how this bra stood up to my need for an over shoulder boulder holder. I also like running but my top half has often made me shy away from doing that in recent years due to 'potential black eye syndrome' being a strong potentially associated risk. I am happy to say that despite a bit of a struggle getting inandoutofit(my fault for being in denial about my actual size), I found it to be exactly what it claims to be.Anallroundsportsbra(also capable of absorbing shock). I love it and seriously guys if you need a little extra support get one of these. I also find it really helps during the 'time of month' with keeping things in place and reducing pain and soreness. It's also quite good looking. Some sports bras can be very granny / old fashioned in style. This one I am reliably told makes you look... well fit!

It is easy to get beautiful looking eyes with AKA's eye shadow palettes. They are easy to blend and have a tasteful
selection of colours brilliant for day or night-time looks. Their 'demure' palette is great for creating a smoky eye look. I have got into the habit of using this everymorningwithitsfourcolours(dark purple, grey with glittery bits, light pink, and brown). I use the pink and/or grey for my upper lids, then I blend the dark purple or brown into the crease near my eye socket, and to finish it off I use an angled eye shadow brush to pick-up the dark purple or brown and use it as an eyeliner to finish off my smoky look.
AKA's blushers come in great natural as well as some fun shades. I love the pink kiss blusher which is a really bright pink and when applied whilst making 'fish-lips' gives a really dramatic look, but you really need to make sure your eye make up is just as dramatic. The very easy to apply AKA eye liner is great at achieving big, sultry, come-hither-eyes. AKA do a red lipstick called 'flirt' which is deep red and stays in place for hours. I love this particular one because I can feel that it is moisturing but still looks matt, glamourous and I feel like Marylin Monroe in it.

For those times of the month when your skin changes the most or to maintain a blemish free complexion this is a product that should be raving about it's abilities. But delightfully this is a humble little miracle that I will certainly no longer live without. If you get the occasional spot, regular ones, have developed adult acne or had skin problems for years, this is for you. As a teenager I didn't have a single blemish in sight but as a stressed out mum of two, running a business, along with hormonal and associated skin changes, the Silver Serum is a beauty regime essential. Many blemish and spot reducing products leave skin dry, flaky and can age the skin and leave long term damage. The compounds in this product work to prevent these problems and reveal a beautifully healthy looking complexion. It took about two weeks for me to see a marked difference, but now I am using it as part of my daily routine I have smoother, clearer and much softer skin.

I was a little hesitant about using this product at first, but only because I have a medieval weird and rare eye disorder which includes the spontaneous ripping of my eyeballs and extreme pain. Anyway, a bit sensitive shall we say. But I have always struggled to find eye products that do not irritate me. I can't wear false lashes due to my condition so a heavy mascara has usually been my best option. But this, and I am not joking, doubled the length and bulk of my eyelashes immediately. You do have to be quite careful how you apply it, but it is far less faffy than applying individual eyelashes and gives the same if not stronger results. It is literally a case of putting your mascara on and looking like you have borrowed your gorgeous best mates luscious eyelashes. LOVE this product.

So I have possibly slightly, OK comparatively to most of you, VERY old skin. But my need for repair is greater,
therefore if I find a product works for me you can guarantee it will for you. I have combination skin but largely dry and more sensitive the older I get. I really need moisture but find that heavy products may hydrate my skin but leave me with spots and oily patches at the same time. I can't win; I either have to dry my skin out to get rid of blemishes
and end up looking more like a prune, or over hydrate and get more imperfections but smooth out my lines a bit. I strongly recommend these Una Brennan products, particularly to those who have sensitive skin. I am a real fan and have already purchased my next batch for fear of being without them. They hydrate your skin in a sensitive and individual way seeking out where moisture is needed and leaving the other areas unharmed. Brilliant!

The AEOS products I have tried out are environmentally friendly and really deliver on quality. I love the packaging made from beautiful white organic card with dried flowers embedded within it. The products themselves look very sleek and futuristic. The AEOS range has been well designed to nurture your skin with the use of biodynamic spelt Dee x
oil which is rich in vitamins and minerals. I have got quite attached to their lip balm which tastes like lemon and lime. I try to keep my lips well moisturised which is hard during the winter months but so important when you want to put on your colour-popping lipstick but you can't because chapped lips and lipstick are an epic FAIL.
AEOS Biodynamic nail and cuticle oil will keep the overall look of your hands and nails healthier and younger.(Take note all hand models and keep your paws well maintained with their lovely handbag addition).

Its for real men who grow proper stubble, not teenage boys, whose chin hair resembles the bottom of an onion with a few straggly hairs.Put it on with a brush, feel old school and don't let your girlfriend use it (although its no doubt great for those trouble areas like the bikini zone). (she apologises for the quality of the photos this year) and a bank

was very much inspired by the modelling world which pleased us here at EM immensely.
Renowned for being one of the places to get scouted it was good to see that element
being showcased on the catwalk by means of a storyboard including model castings, references to
magazine editors, fashion and beauty. It could have been tailor made for EM Magazine. The show featured over forty models and dancers
showcasing around 250 outfits with eight scene changes and ending with the 2012 anthem that is,
Gangnam Style. Love it or loathe it, you can't help but smile about it.

HEAltH & fItnEssAs you may or may not
know, I am quite an avid trainer. I lift heavy weights, go on crazy
obstacle endurance runs, have been involved and competed in MMA (cage fighting), and I'm also a full time personal trainer.
I made a new year's resolution to learn how to rollerskate, and it began by strapping on a pair of quad skates and wobbling around a bit.
By the second time I put the skates on, I felt I was becoming more competent. Roller derby is a contact sport, including some drills involving skating into one another with force to try and knock each other out of the track. As I was doing so well, I turned it up a few notches at the end of a session as my training buddy said "Right then Pete, be ready for this because I'm going to hit you as hard as I can now mate!"
"OK buddy give it your best shot ha ha!" I replied. I do enjoy this kind of contact sport.
So as he came bombing around the track and bounced off me, I barely moved. This is where I made the mistake of mocking his hitting ability, calling him a feline, and requesting that he try again only withabitmoregusto(maybe not those exact words). This time he came across the track changing tactics at the last second of his approach. I thought "Wow,
36 Every Model Magazine
this will be interesting."The hit made me wobble and as
I tried to regain my balance, the toe
stopper on the front of the skate hit the floor.
SNAP!
As I fell I knew I had broken it. Thoughts of being unable to work, drive, TRAIN, flooded my brain before I even hit the floor. As I lay on the floor the pain began to sink in. I was pale and shaking, and felt cold, but I sucked it up and kept my sense of humour about me. My kids were there and really great, they were calm and supportive.
I assumed that I would simply get a cast on my leg and be done, but sadly not. The X-rays dictated that I had a bit of a stay in hospital, and an operation. I had broken my fibula and the tibia had a couple of pieces broken off the back. I'd also snapped my deltoid ligament and myCFL(calcaneo fibular ligament). So after three days enduring nil by mouth while they decided whether they could fit me in, I am now the proud wearer of several screws and a metal plate that holds me together.
But it will take more than a mere broken leg to hold me back. I broke my leg on Sunday, was operated on Tuesday, out of hospital on Wednesday, and back to work on Thursday... Im going to say it...
BOOM!
Right here is where you start paying in sweat“
”
I'm relying on lifts everywhere though, and that is a massive pain in the neck. The lovely EM beauty editor(and wife to me) Dee, has been super helpful in this area, as have other friends and clients.
I have a bright red cast on now, which I have decorated to look like a rollerskate. People are gradually filling it with graffiti as is the custom.
So now I just have to wait for the cast to come off, so I can bother my physiotherapist until I'm fighting fit again.
Remember people, NO EXCUSES. I am still training, lifting weights and engaging in silliness like single leg burpees into pull ups. So when you get a little cold and don't want to go to the gym, just remember that results come from dedication, sweat and sometimes a bit of sacrifice and pain.

I really like this protein shake and it stands out from othersI'veused(I've used a lot of them) for a few reasons. This is a plant based protein shake that uses hemp, soit'shighinprotein, containsEFA's(omega 3) and is also high in fibre.
It has no lactose, gluten, soya, or sugar and it does not leave you bloated, unlike many other shakes. The protein found in hemp is easily metabolised by the human body.
Most impressive of all...THIS SHAKE HAS JUST FIVE INGREDIENTS! Now there is a breath of fresh air. The majority of these kinds of products contain an ingredient list as long as your arm, with words that you can’t pronounce let alone identify as a food.
Protein shakes can be a useful addition to an activeperson'sdiet, especiallypostworkout(and you all work out right?) The additional protein helps your body to maintain its muscle tone, while you get on with the business of burning off body fat.
This shake mixes easily with water and tastes pretty good. It's a funny colour, so don't look at it too much but that's due to the lack of artificial

GaryCockerill(Katie Price's best mate and make up artist) recently launched his first beauty line. A
revolution in eyelashes. The launch took place in Central London.
It was a star studded event with celebs such as Katie Price, Melanie Sykes, Lizzie Cundy, Celeb chefs, Celeb photographers, West End stars, TV personalities and many more. I snook along to have a nosey!
Gary Cockerill is one of the UK’s most respected, creative and versatile make-up artists. He is completely self-taught and much in demand.
His new eyelash range, called "Pro Lashes Range by Gary Cockerill" are a new concept, whereby you get two sets of eyelashes per packet...
One set for day, and one for the evening. As Gary likes to call it "Daytime to Playtime" Makes great sense if you ask me.
The lashes are made from 100% natural hair. There are eight styles in the range, with many variations to choose from including natural to high glamour for every mood and occasion: Wispish waif, ingénue eyes, dolly dreamer, damsel in a dress, very vixen, sultry siren, femme fatale, cage aux false.
Models were styled by celeb stylist Joey Bevan and swanned around the event in wonderful long gowns, showing off eyelashes and make up by Gary.
The overall night was fun, had a great atmosphere and the place was buzzing. Champagne and canapés
were flying around and Gary gave a lovely speech. We all wish him good luck with his new range.
Check out his website www.garycockerill.com to find out more.

modelling and entertainment industry is of paramount importance. As an independent organisation we operate a process to every applicant wishing to be accredited to us. The process consists of applicants completing a number of non-bias questions designed by subject matter experts within the industry. Upon successful completion and satisfactory answers to the questions and by agreeing to the terms and conditions of the code of conduct applicants are invited to be listed within the Every Model Industry Directory. All agents listed within the directory are required to comply with the following code of conduct, and subsequently are subject to an independent complaints procedure. Once approval has been granted by ‘Every Model’ the agent is permitted to display the EM logo in their corporate literature with the wording ‘Accredited and Approved Agent’.
This Code of Conduct is intended to give guidance alone, on the standard of service that a client should expect from those Service Providers who agree to abide by the Code. The responsibility for the prevention and control of reputability and credibility lies with the Service Provider. The guidelines outlined have been designed to help clients select a competent service provider by highlighting critical areas and detailing the commitment that clients should expect from prospective Service Providers. Management of the Every Model Code of Conduct is monitored by an independent steering committee.
