Good practices in youth volunteering
Graffiti in Schools
A young group of Graffiti artists volunteered to Graffiti on Shool walls
The main idea was to motivate the students to participate and to embelish the shool
The Municipality of Kordelio- Evosmos funded the action and with the help of the YIC it was realized in 4 schools
Steps 1. Informing the schools about
our idea Get the approval from the
Principal of each school Have a meeting with the
students about the theme of the Graffiti
Involve the Students in the process
The Students participated actively and they became interested in the Art of Graffiti

Outcomes
The students respect the cleanliness of the school more since they were involved in decorating the walls.
World Enviroment day.
A group of youngsters volunteered on the world enviroment day to organise happenings for children in order to inform them about enviromental polution.
The event was Hosted and funded by the Municipality and co-
organised with the YIC
Steps
Organise the happenings Make a Poster to inform
the local community about the Event
Motivate children to recycle and to protect the enviroment
Outcomes
The children were very motivated to change their attitude about recycling and reusing.They even made a poster with ideas how to protect the enviroment.Each child received a plant in order to make our Municipality Greener
Volunteering
In general terms, volunteering is the practice of people working on behalf of others or a particular cause without payments for their time and services.
Volunteering is generally considered an altruistic activity, intended to promote good , but people also volunteer for their own skill development, to meet others, to make contacts for possible employment.
