Jordan Baker is an amateur golf player from Louisville staying at her long-time friend’s, Daisy, during the novel. She is a shallow, dishonest, careless person, with an aloof, direct personality. She was once involved in a scandal during a golf tournament that nearly reached the newspapers, but she managed to keep her reputation untouched, by dishonest acts, which tells us how self-centred she is. She is in a sort of relationship with Nick throughout the novel and in the end she reveals to him that she is engaged. Also, in the end, she mentions going to a tournament in Southampton. She is a person who likes to be around famous people and people of her own social class.
