strive to maintain now and in the years to come. The outstanding quality and clear profile of our research activities is reflected in the funding that our various projects receive, e.g., from the German Research Foun-dation (DFG), the European Union as well as other public institutions and partners from the private sector.
In recent years many students, graduates, andresearchers have launched start-up businesses, which maintain close ties with the University. In fact, they are major clients for our research and development activities, and represent potential employers for our graduates.

THEORY AND PRACTICEOur strong focus on topical research issues combined with our outstanding methodological and technical expertise makes us an attractive partner for research projects commissioned by both the public and private sectors. This cooperation also allows our students to familiarize themselves with the day-to-day activities in a business organization. In many subject areas, internships and hands-on projects and papers are part of the standard curriculum.
INTERNATIONALIZATIONWith seventy partner universities we offer one of the largest international networks for research and study cooperation’s. One particular development has taken place in Asia over the past number of years (China, Japan, Korea and Vietnam). This development creates opportunities for our students and academic researchers to deepen their Asian knowledge and Asian linguistic skills, while also enabling the strengthening of their intercultural competencies.
