Fall 2018 Season Wrap-Up Edition

Welcome Autumn In MemoryInside WIT Club

We hope everyone had a great summer season of travel and enjoyed time spent living the RV lifestyle full of wonderful memories RVing with your friends, visiting exciting destinations, and for many of you - attending the Grand National Rally. We had many states and provinces represented...thanks to everyone who joined us for Winnebago's 60th Birthday Party!

You’ll see some changes in this issue. First off, it’s shorter and more compact. We are featuring club/chapter/group news articles on our website only. Visit witclub.com/news to see up-to-date news from WIT Club and Winnebago, which is uploaded daily. You’ve also probably noticed you haven’t received a print issue in a while. While we still intend to produce a print publication, it won’t be sent out at the frequency it once was. Look for the next issue in the spring of 2019.

Be sure you stay connected with Winnebago! We will continue to communicate with you, our valued owners, via:

• WinnebaGoLife winnebagolife.com (be sure you sign up for the GoLife newsletter!)

• Monthly eNews emails sent direct to your inbox• Daily updates on our website witclub.com • Printed publications• Facebook www.facebook.com/

WinnebagoInternationalTravelersClub If you are no longer receiving emails from WIT Club or Winnebago, you may have opted out. Send an email to Brynn at bdaniels@wgo.net to verify, and we’ll get you opted back in to communication from us!

Our team is working on some great things ahead for all Winnebago owners. As WIT Club members, you’ll be the first to hear of changes inclusive of processes – primarily, we will be streamlining things to make gathering as a club or chapter easier and put the focus back on fun not paperwork.

That said, currently all updates for the website, outing listings, and friendship outing requests should continue to be sent to Brynn bdaniels@wgo.net. Please continue to contact Kathryn kbpadgett@wgo.net or Sherry sstheel@wgo.net in the office regarding membership information.

More to come!

WIT Club Team

It is with sadness we share with you we lost a member of the Winnebago family recently. Jan Pedersen, WIT Club Western Area Representative, passed away suddenly October 10, 2018. Jan and his wife, Sulaine, joined the Winnebago team when they trained

as Area Reps during the 2017 Grand National Rally and were just finishing their first full travel season. The western area has enthusiastically welcomed them to their rallies and outings during this first year as Area Reps. Pedersens joined WIT Club as SunnyBrook owners and have served as huge advocates for the growing towable community within our club membership. Jan and Sulaine have camped their entire married life and brought years of service to their Sunny Travelers Club before joining the WIT Club Family. Jan was a quiet champion of faith and family, but also known for his joyful enthusiasm for towable products, our WIT Club, and the Winnebago brand. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting and knowing him.

Many of you may also be aware that we recently lost another long-time member of the Winnebago family.Dick Dodge, retired WIT Club Eastern Area Representative, passed away on October 8, 2018 of lung cancer in Titusville, FL, surrounded by his family. Dick and Mikki

are long-time members of WIT Club who served in the WIT Tours program before taking on their role as Area Reps in 2005. They spread their love of Winnebago and WIT Club along the eastern coast through the 2010 travel season. Dick and Mikki were true leaders in championing their small, but vivacious Lake Champlain WIT – Vermont State Club prior to becoming Reps. Our team will remember Dick for his delightful sense of humor, love of his WIT Club friends and enthusiastic support for the Grand National Rally and his fellow Area Reps. Our thoughts have been with Mikki over these past months as Dick valiantly faced his illness. We’re sorry to share such tragic news. It is times like this that make us appreciate each day a little more.

Fall Edition 2018 3

Winnebago Motorhomes and Towables is pleased to announce the launch of several new products at this year’s Winnebago Open House event in Elkhart, Indiana. Additions to the motorhome lineup include the Class C Vita and Class A gas Adventurer. Winnebago Towables introduced the Micro Minnie 5th Wheel and the Spyder Toy Hauler.

Vita and Porto

A compact Class C diesel built on the Mercedes Benz Sprinter chassis, the Vita and Porto offer quality and innovation customers have come to expect from Winnebago. Both products are equipped with an industry-first new SuperShell™ one-piece fiberglass front cap that is contoured to fit the cab and features best-in-class thermal & acoustic insulation for superior driving and camping comfort.

The interiors are highlighted by a best in class galley with large counter space, double sink, ample storage and a big panoramic window. The Vita and Porto are available in two floorplans – the 24P and 24F.

“At under 25 feet, the Vita and Porto allow you the freedom to explore everything from a major metropolitan area to a remote forest,” said Russ Garfin, product manager. “Throughout the coaches, we have implemented features driven by input from our loyal customers.”

Spyder

Winnebago re-enters the toy hauler segment with the launch of the new Spyder product line.

The Spyder product line will consist of four travel trailer and two fifth wheel floorplans. The absence of wheel wells allows for more compact vehicle storage and its overhead cabinet design extends to the ceiling.

“The end user was our main focus. We included several functional features that will be appreciated long after the thrill of the purchase,” said Ron Brown, Engineering Manager.

Large windows increase ventilation and an innovative in-ceiling ducted air conditioning system provides a cooling breeze in varying weather conditions. On display at the Open House event, is the 28KS floorplan which includes a master bedroom wardrobe slide, dual entry bathroom, and a spacious galley slide.

Micro Minnie Fifth Wheel

Capitalizing on the success and industry leading growth of the seven-foot wide, Micro Minnie trailer, Winnebago Towables is extending the concept into the fifth wheel market with the introduction of the Micro Minnie fifth wheel.

“While the industry promotes 7,000, 8,000, and even 9,000 pound fifth wheels as half-ton towable, the new Micro Minnie fifth wheel in the 5,000 pound category will not only be best in class, but also work with the rapidly growing midsize truck category,” said Adam Christoffersen, Product Manager.

The Micro Minnie fifth wheel is equipped with upgraded features

generally found in top-notch towables. A flush mount cooktop with glass cover, solid surface countertops, stainless steel sink, true gel coat fiberglass sidewalls, and plenty of large windows add to the allure of the compact fifth wheel.

AdventurerThe all-new Adventurer is the definition of Winnebago Class A Gas luxury. Built with Winnebago’s legendary Superstructure, the Adventurer offers styling and floorplans to meet a variety of tastes. It is packed with interior features normally found in diesel pushers like Corian countertops, swivel Versa cab seats

and Ultraleather furniture coverings. Key exterior features include an entertainment center, pet leash tie down, an LP system provided in the patio area of the coach and full body paint with chrome mirrors.

“The Adventurer is packed with user-friendly features, and more value than ever before,” said Director of Sales Niles Whitehouse. “Family-friendly floorplans offer spacious living, and ample storage space to provide all the comforts of home.”

The Adventurer is available in five floorplans – the 27N, 30T, 33C, 35F & 36Z.
