In the Faroes they play soccer,hand ball,rowing,volleyball and swimming.There national sport is rowing but soccer is the most popular.Most of the football pitches are covered by artificial grass but the two main stadiums are real grass

In the Faroe Islands whaling is a big part of the culture.Whaling in the Faroes started about 1200 years ago.In the past few years alot of special interest groups have tried to stop whaling but failed.They do this hunt by having a person on top of a mountain and he looks out for whales and

if he sees them a horn goes out and people run out to the whales and they stick a hook in the whales blow hole and they take it out and they bring it back to shore to sell.A hunt ends in less then 5 minutes.

The Faroe Islands have been under the control of Denmark since 1388.The head of the government is called a Logmaour which is a prime minister.The first time the faroes people were asked if they wanted independence was in 1946.

Politics

The main food that they eat is lamb and fish.The main fish that they eat is whale meat.They also eat blubber,garnatalg,puffin,potatoes,and vegetables.The Faroese love British food such as fish and chips and cadburys chocolate.

This is a traditional dish in the Faroe Islands.There is whale meat(black)in the middle there isblubber,potatoes and cod.Inthe winter they eat sheepheads,dried whale,blubber,and skerpikjet.
