FilipinaZ Art & Fashion Fair

Art and Fashion Fundraising Event for Biennium 2014 - 2016

34

Overview

The FilipinaZ Art & Fashion Fair offered a product

blend of arts, crafts, jewelry, fashion wear and home accessories.

The Zonta Club of Makati and Environs held fundraising fairs on the 1st and 2nd years of Biennium 2014-2016.

Each fair was a 3-day fundraising event culminating in an art auction, handled by a famous auction house.

35

Renowned artists donated paintings for the auction

The first FilipinaZ fundraising was held on 12-12-

14 September 2014 and the second on 25-27 September 2015

Venue was at the Rockwell Tent, an Annex of the Power Plant Mall in Makati.

Purpose was to raise funds for the various service projects of ZC Makati & Environs.

Planning

Planning began 6 months in advance to give time for exhibitors to design, create and/or manufacture their goods.

The FilipinaZ Fair Committee led by chair- person, Maritess Pineda, who was in charge of the planning. Plans and budget were approved by the board and the general membership.

Target audience were women, families and art aficionados. 37

Promotion

The event was advertised through TV interviews, newsprint articles, posters, flyers and word of mouth.

On the eve of the event, the club held a press conference to explain what Zonta is about, our various service projects and advocacies. Media kits were distributed. Media was very receptive and gave the club free air time and print space.

The club’s facebook and website featured the event. A club member with graphic design background handles the facebook page.
