SENIOR CENTER
S H I R L E Y D O A N E
Greetings! Change is one of the things in life we can count on and we all know there has cer-tainly been a lot of changes here at the center in the last few months. What impresses me the most about all of you fellow members is your ac-ceptance and openness to the changes. It has always been one of my key phrases in life to accept the things I can’t change and it has served me well. It is no sur-prise to me that all of you also adapt so well and I ap-plaud you for that. Equally, I want to commend you for the spirit that you all bring to our Senior Center. That spirit I see is being vested in life. What a wonderful example you are to each other when you participate and have a good time in whatever your pleasures are. Such a won-derful thing that is and I want you to know it is contagious. Thank you for being a part of the whole here and outside of the center. It is key to suc-cess in life and I look forward to the continued success of the Shirley Doane Senior Center during my tenure as director and beyond. There is no doubt in my mind that all of you will not change being who you are. And that is one change I don’t see happening and for which I am grateful. Thank You! See you soon! Donna

I went to a funeral on January 12th, it was a sad but “great”
event, the eulogy was eye-opening and inspiring.
We seem to forget the small things in life that make up who we
are. Like favorite foods, events, people who matter, who gave us hugs, and whose
shoulder we cried on, etc.
We, at the center, are so lucky we have wonderful member volunteers, who
matter a great deal to all of us. We inspire and get inspired every day.
Inspiration is a two-way street, when we give, we get back ten-fold.
This is a happy family environment, we show concern, love and most impor-
tantly TEAM SPIRIT to all.

Quote of the month…
Too often we under estimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

DESCRIPTION:
Based on the popular film, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels centers on two competing con men living on the French Riviera. At first, the suave and experienced Lawrence Jameson takes the American rookie con man, Freddy under his wing. But soon, Freddy tries to compete directly with Lawrence. The competition comes to a peak when they agree that the first con man to extract $50,000 from the female heiress, Christine Colgate, wins and the other must leave town forever. As they both take on the bet they both fall for her but quickly realize they have bitten off more than they can chew. This heavenly Broadway musical comedy is filled with hilarious series of schemes, masquerades and double-crosses.
