DOMINANT ISSUES
BUILDING & SITE ANALYSIS
GOALS STATEMENTESSENTIAL PURPOSE OF WORKSPACEThe design of the workspace should create an invigorating and modern work setting where innovative and work-driven people come together to collaborate and consistently build on the Armani brand in order to achieve perfection that transcends fashion, which is the company’s mission.
MAIN GOALS
DOMINANT FEATURES & SPACES
CRUCIAL ASPECTS
The main goal of the Giorgio Armani workspace will be to establish the brand’s identity of elegance, comfort, bold, and modernity in order to create a space that promotes flexibility, collaboration, and well-being. Simultaneously, employees will be establish a sense of loyalty and ownership over the brand while building the company’s extensive fashion design empire.
The corporate offices will contain 60% open spaces and 40% enclosed spaces. This will include collision zones (cafe and gym, located near the windows) and collaboration spaces (materials room and brainstorm room). A gallery to showcase the recent clothing collection will be featured on the second floor along the columns, which will also be located by the main area of the office (the cafe).
The design of the space should address the need for collaboration and fostering creativity. It should take into consideration the vast amounts of sunlight that enter the space, which can be used to improve employee well-being and reduce absences. It will also take into consideration the relationships among the different departments so that their spaces can be located near one another in order to facilitate collaboration and provide for smooth operations. Several spaces will be provided for employees to be able to relax and regroup with their thoughts, in order to keep up with the constant innovation and hard-work that will be happening in the workspace.
The office space will include:1 Lobby/Waiting Area3 Executive Suites1 Accounting Office1 Human Resources & IT Office1 Purchasing & Operations Office1 Sales & Marketing Office1 Quality Assurance Office17 Support Spaces
CONCEPTWith Armani’s invention of the suit jacket in 1975, both men and women’s fashion were reinvented. The jacket came to represent the growing authority of women and the liberation of men from the protection they used to hide their insecurities.
My concept is based on Armani’s constant modernization of fashion, which has allowed for their clothing to break away from monotonous ways of dressing and symbolizes the idea of power dressing for both sexes. My design will break from the norm and emphasize power in all aspects of the workplace, using bold colors, shifted pieces, and a variety of different spatial forms.

DESIGN GUIDELINES
1. Design employee workspaces so that they all have access to natural light in order to improve employee well-being and activity and reduce energy costs.
2. Design multiple collaborative spaces in order to promote and foster employee collaboration and creativity.
3. Create a staircase that allows for a visual and physical connection between both floors in order to maintain a sense of unity between the different departments and a strong sense of fidelity to the brand.
4. Establish well-being areas, such as the health studio and focus rooms, that will aid in employee relaxation and invigoration in order to allow for maximum creativity and productivity in the workplace. These spaces will also utilize the extensive views of the outdoor.
5. Create a gallery space along the columns on the second floor that show off Armani work so that employees are motivated and can establish a relationship with the brand’s work.
6. Design a workplace that transmits the modern, elegant, bold, and comfort of the Armani brand by incorporating their color palette, patterns, textures, and logo throughout their work space.
