DISASSEMBLY
Removing the Friction Pad
1. Remove the cylinder.2. Use a slot head screwdriver to unscrew the Friction
Pad screws.
Note: To ease access tothe screws, remove thePR14 Mounting Bracketand pass the screwdriverthrough the slot.
Removing the Right Shoulder Strap
1. Remove the M7 Control Module. See M7 ControlModule Repair and Maintenance (P/N 10093089) forInstructions.
2. Unlace the free end of the pull-strap from the frictionbuckle.
3. Remove the shoulderstrap by angling theTri-bar slide throughthe slot.
Removing the Left Shoulder Strap
1. Disconnect the secondstage regulator from theintermediate pressurehose.
a. If present, use an11/16” wrench toremove theExtendAire manifold.
b.Remove the o-ringand discard.

2. Pull the first stageintermediate pressurehose through theshoulder strap.
3. Remove the pull-strap from the friction buckle.
Removing the Chest Strap
1. Unlace the ends of thechest strap from theslide buckles.
2. Pull the ends throughthrough the tunnels inthe chest straps.
Removing Waist BeltsRemove the waist pull-straps from the backplate byangling the tri-bar through the slots.
Removing the Swiveling Lumbar Pad
1. Remove the SwivelingLumbar Pad by anglingthe tri-bars through thebackplate slots.
REASSEMBLY
Installing the Swiveling Lumbar PadP/N 10083134
1. Position the Swiveling Lumbar Pad behind thebackplate with the curved edge up.
2. Angle the tri-barsthrough the slots.
Installing Waist BeltsLeft Double Pull Waist Belt: P/N 10025941Right Double Pull Waist Belt: P/N 818374
1. Angle the tri-bar strap through the slot.2. Tug on the belt to test the attachment.
3. From back to front,lace the free end of thepull-strap through thefriction buckle.

4. Pass the strap over thebar and back throughthe buckle.
Installing the Chest StrapChest Strap Kit: P/N 10012167
Connect male and female ends of chest strap.
1. Extend the cheststraps.
2. Lay the unconnectedmale end under theright shoulder strap.
3. Lay the unconnected end of the male chest strapunder the left shoulder strap.
4. Pass the end throughthe tunnel in the strap.
5. Lace the strap throughthe slide buckle.
a. Lace the chest strapover the bar anddown through theslide buckle.
b. Pull the chest strapthrough.
6. Don the Carrier/Harness Assembly to check cheststrap installation.

Installing the Left Shoulder StrapP/N 10048173
1. Install the shoulder strap by angling the tri-bar throughthe slot.
2. Tug on the shoulder strap to test the attachment.
4. Lace the free end ofthe pull-strap throughthe friction buckle.
a. Twist the strapclockwise one halfturn.
b. With the fold down,pass the strap fromback to front throughthe buckle.
c. Pass the strap overthe bar and backthrough the buckle.
d. Pass the first stageintermediate-pressurehose through thetunnel.
5. Reinstall theintermediate pressurehose to the M7ExtendAire manifold.
a. Install a new o-ring.b.Use a torque wrench with 11/16” crowfoot to
tighten the connector to 75 ± 5 in lbs.c. Ensure that the dust cover is properly attached.
6. Reconnect theintermediate-pressurehose.
a. Use a torque wrench with 11/16” crowfoot totighten the connector to 125 ± 5 in lbs.

Installing the Right Shoulder StrapRight Shoulder Strap P/N 818381Tether P/N 10016029
1. Install the shoulderstrap by angling thetri-bar through the slot.
2. Tug on the shoulderstrap to test theattachment.
3. Install the tether.
a. Pass the frictionbuckle through thetether’s largeopening.
Note: If using the optionalchest strap install thetether above the cheststrap.
4. Lace the free end of the pull-strap through the frictionbuckle.
a. Fully extend theshoulder and pullstrap. Make sure thestraps are untwisted.
b. Twist the pull strapcounterclockwiseone-half turn.
c. With the fold down,pass the strap fromback to front throughthe buckle.
d.Pass the strap overthe bar and backthrough the buckle.
e. Reinstall the M7 Control Module. (See M7 ControlModule Maintenance and Repair for instructions.)

Installing the Friction PadCylinder Friction Pad Kit P/N 10086667
1. Remove the cylinder.2. Position the new Friction Pad on the backplate.
Note: Ensure that theFriction Pad face slopestoward the center of thebackplate.
3. Insert T-nuts throughthe holes.
4. Insert screws.
5. Use a slot head screwdriver to tighten the Friction Padscrews.
Note: To ease access tothe screws, remove thePR-14 Mounting Bracketand pass the screwdriverthrough the slot.
