• From the second half of the nineteenth century, governments began to reorganize the space and the relation of the dead with the living.
• Social distinction of the tombs, picnic, civic procession and Sunday tours

The British Cemetery inaugurated in 1810, is located in the neighborhood of Gamboa -Rio de Janeiro(Maria Graham).

Until the mid-90s, the country had only one crematorium. In 2008 practicallyall states already had a crematorium
The final disposal of ashes is free and can be kept in vaults or delivered to thedepositary ash
Religious issues help explain the growth of cremations (Authorisation ofCatholic Church)
During this process the gases are treated so as not to pollute the air and thedispersion of ash does not offer the risk of contaminating the water table
Today, 98.5% of the dead are buried and only 1.5% is cremated

Sustainability goals: The set of management should aim to revenues, with new uses that
contribute to cover periodic upkeep of the physical material of the equity structure as well.

Technologies for the reuse of rain water and solar capitation were integrated into the architectural design. This because were considered the
frequent rainy seasons and the intense sunny days of the city of Belém.
ccThe composition should continue with its secular use as a place of worship of the dead and the "souls" by the community. In
addition, the assembly should be opened daily to the public, with the aim of create a new contemplative recreation area for
the city: a true place of exhibition of art, an authentic memory place
