Practice: Use the CINAHL Headings for our chocolate/red wine search
1. Browse for “chocolate” in the CINAHL Headings
2. Find the preferred term “cacao”
3. Select it and use it to search CINAHL
4. Do the same for “red wine”
Getting BETTER results
• Keywords
– chocolate = 324 results
– red wine = 111 results
• CINAHL headings
– cacao = 405 results
– wine = 392 results
Combine terms using the search history
• Open your search history
1. Clear your search box
2. Select your two (wine and cacao) searches
3. Combine them using AND
4. Add them to the search box
5. Search
S1 AND S2 = S3

Managing results
• Limit your search if it is too large
• Select Search Options

Adding items to the folder

←↗ Create a new folder if you would like to save your citations to your MyEBSCO Host account
Use these icons to either print, email, save (as a web document), or export your citations↙↓↘
← Use the “Move To” drop-down list to move the selected citations to your new folder.
Get to the full-text using the Get it @Western button
← Select the “Get it @ Western” button
←Select “Go” to link to the full-text of the article through our online subscriptions.
The link should take you to the full-text of the article.
Look for the PDF link → which will open a version of
the article complete with page numbers (essential for
quotations).
←If we don’t have an electronic version available, try the UWO Catalogue to find the call number for the print version
←Note the call number so that you can find the print version in the library.
