Fitter Machinist (2 positions)

The Authority seeks a suitably qualified person to take up the role of Fitter Machinist under its Production

Business Unit to be based at our Kinoya Depot and be specifically tasked with duties assigned by the

Supervisor Mechanical.

PRIMARY JOB PURPOSE

Sets up and operates precision metal cutting and grinding machines to fabricate and repair parts

Determines dimensions by logic or by measuring samples

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Fits and assembles parts and sub-assemblies made from metal and other materials to make

production machinery and other equipment

Sets up and operates tools to cut, shape and form metal stock and castings to exact sizes, using

detailed drawings, CAD systems and specifications.

Operate machines to produce parts or tools by turning, boring, milling, planing, shaping, slotting,

grinding or drilling metal stock or components

Provide feedback about the efficiency and operation of systems installed and maintenance

requirements

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Posses a Trade Certificate in Fitting & Machining or Equivalent with at least 5 years of work experience

Ability to work both in a team environment and with minimum supervision

Ability to install and maintain mechanical machineries in water and sewerage facilities

Ability to identify, locate and repair faults in machineries and parts

Good English Communication skills
