Flat Plan

FRONT COVER CONTENTS

DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD

For the front cover I took inspiration from two magazines, here is where I got ideas from theFirst magazine ‘decibel’. The structure of the anchor, the pose of the artist and the graphic on The left hand side. The artist on my front cover mirrors the aggressive look of the artist on the real artists face.

This highlights where I got inspiration from the second magazine cover from ‘decibel’. I decided to place a pull quote where a graphic would be on the original magazine. Because my artist is female I thought the pose with her holding something would portray her in a more feminine way.

For my contents page I took inspiration from two magazines. The first, ‘hammer’ magazine, from this magazine I decided to have three columns describing the latest news in the week, the charts and an editor speaks paragraph.

The second magazine I took inspiration from ‘Kerrang’. From this I decided to have three large pictures at the top apposed to a few pictures scattered around the page. I also decided to have a large header in the middle instead of small one at the top like ‘hammer’.

For the double page spread, I wanted my artist to look less aggressive so I took inspiration from a ‘bring me the horizon’ page. I wanted this page to be simple so I put a small pull quote in top right corner.

I took inspiration from the graphics on the magazines page, and the structure of the writing, if like the gothic theme for the page and I think it will fit well with my genre.
