• HB 493 – Enhanced Safety for School Crossings• Requires FDOT to evaluate the viability and cost of a uniform
system of pavement markings and signage for certain state and local roads within a one-mile radius of all public and private schools for the purpose of designating safe school crossing locations
• Requires a report by January 1, 2018, with findings and recommendations for legislation

public work project to adhere to certain employee restrictions• HB 727 – Accessibility of Places of Public
Accommodation• Creates voluntary process to certify places of public
accommodation as conforming to the requirements of the federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) after inspection by a qualified expert.

• 453.7.4 Common Fire Alarm• On an existing campus any renovation, remodeling
or new building without an assembly space of 300 or more shall be connected to the existing fire alarm.
• On an existing campus any renovation, remodeling or new building with an assembly space of 300 or more shall be connected to a fire alarm with the voice feature required by section 907.2.

wind loads in accordance with ICC 500-2014 Standard for the Design and Construction of Storm Shelters.

be impervious.• Ceilings in group toilet rooms, locker rooms and
kitchens shall be impervious.• Floor drains and plumbing fixtures shall not be installed
in HVAC rooms.
