Summer Encampment

First arrivals at Florida Wing summer encampment, stand by as Naval

Training Center trainees march by.

Florida Wing cadets, bags and bed rolls inhand, are on their way to

newly assigned bunks, to start nine days of intensive training at the

Wings summer encampment.

"Early cadet conference" ... takes place at the Florida Wing summer

encampment, held at the Naval Training Center, Orlando. Shown left to

With a snappy salute, Florida Wingcadets pass in review., at the final

parade of the Wings summer encampment, held at the NavalTraining

Center, Orlando.

Lt. Col. TomWelch addresses cadets and guests at the graduation

ceremonies of the Florida Wingsummer encampment.

Cadets are shown as they come up to receive their certificates of

accomplishment for the Florida Wing summer encampment.

In a three way handshake, Cadet Airman John Kirkland, S.E. Tampa

Cadet Squadron, smiles 'broadly, as he receives his award for being

chosen the outstanding "Dooley" for the encampment. (Dooley, means a

first time attendee at an encampment) Presenting at left is Brig. Gen.

John Hill, Virginia National Guard, First Aviation Brigade and at right is

Col. Sam Spieker, Florida Wing Commander.

For being selected outstanding NCOat the Florida Wing Encampment,

Receiving the Outstanding Cadet Officer award is C/ Capt. Flora Solana,

Lantan-Lakeworth Cadet Squadron. Cadet Captain Solana, (center)

received her award at the graduation ceremonies of the Florida Wing

Summer Encampment. Presenting the award at left is, Brig. Gen. John

Hill, Virginia National Guard, First Aviation Brigade and a member of the

Middle East Region Staff and at right is Col. Sam Spieker, Commander

Florida Wing, CAP.

Inapprecration for a job welldone. Receivingthe plaque is Capt. Joe

Martin, Encampment Commander.

A special "Opus" award for celebrating her 18th birthday while attending

the Florida WingSummer Encampment, is presented toCjCapt. Mary

Lefferson, St. Petersburg Cadet Squadron. Waiting tomake the

presentation at left is, CjMajor Darrin Schnuur also of the St. Petersburg

Cadet Squadron.

Senior members who participate in setting up and running the Florida

Wing Summer Encampment, receive accolades from the entire cadet

corps, for all their work that made the encampment the success it was.

"From one cadet to 233 other cadets, my heartfelt congratulations for a

job well done." So stated Brig. General John Hill, as he addressed the

graduating class of cadets at the Florida Wing Summer Encampment.

Col. Sam Spieker, Florida WingCommander, is shown as he speaks to

cadets at, the Summer Encampment graduation ceremonies, held at the

Naval Training Center in Orlando.

"Thumbs up" ... as he returns guide-ens, C/ Sgt Philip Cuthbertson,

322nd Cadet Training Squadron, says, "its over, but I'll be back next

year, you can count on it."

"Flyinghigh, with hats in the air", their flight chosen as "Theoutstanding

flight for Florida WingSummer Encampment", show their joy by letting it

all go.
