Bad folding, synthesizing and aggregation of proteins contributes to decrease the cell’s ability to live and reproduce.

In cancer is possible to see many chromosomal aberrations, but unlike normal cells, cancer cells can strongly grow and reproduce.

The researchers have quantified the effect of protein aggregation on cell aging.

Protein aggregations are important in different neurodegenerative deseases.

For the first time, they mesured the damage caused by bad folding and aggregation of proteins.

The expression of Alzheimer’s AB42 peptide in bacteria, induces protein aggregation.

COMMENTCOMMENT

I think that is important to know more about proteins and their behavior because they are involved in a lot of natural processes and diseases.

As cancer advances the genome becomes more mutated.

The researchers could confirm the chromosomal aberrations that are seen in specific cancer types.

These discoveries are very important to understand better cancer in order to find how to make it less lethal.
