Food Allergies in CatsIn order to find out if your pet has food allergies, it should be fed a new diet for 4 – 6 weeks and see if its symptoms are better. You should feed the new diet only (no treats, people food, nothing else) during the trial period. Let us know how your pet is doing at the end of the trial period. At that time, you may be able to add other ingredients or switch to another diet.

Prescription Diets - RecommendedHills prescription diet (skin/food sensitivities) z/dPrescription diet Royal Canin Feline Hydrolyzed Protein dietPurina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets HA Hydrolyzed Feline Formula

Limited ingredient diets can be used to rule out food allergies by feeding a meat (protein) that the dog or cat has never eaten. This is a “hit or miss” method.
