Although the common image of Tokyo is that of skyscrapers, what is less known and appre-ciated is the endless spread of low rise buildings to the north that create just as powerful an impression. This project is a series of suite rooms in a hotel that exploits and enhances this

rarely appreciated aspect of the city. The suites invite the vast space of the city in, though the use of angled mirrors. This effect is emphasized through the use of contrasting blue light rendering the exterior view appear like Europe or the Middle East.
