Dear Parents,
A warm welcome back to Term 3! The children have happily
returned to school and have been excited to be reunited with their
friends and teachers. I would like to take this opportunity to also
welcome those new children and families who have joined St
Bernadette’s this term. I know that you will find our school
inviting and friendly and be given lots of opportunity to grow and
learn as you make life long friendships. Welcome to :-

In typical St Bernadette’s style of hospitality have already hosted
a special group of visitors from the Catholic Education Office to
our school. These special guests were so impressed with our
children and the learning that your children were engaged in and
were delighted to be made feel so welcome. I would like to
congratulate all the children and especially congratulate and
thank the staff for their ongoing dedication to providing excellent
teaching programmes for your children. I am very proud of them
all.
As we commence our new term together, let us pray for God’s
blessings and ask him to look over us with care.
Lord God, At the beginning of this new term teach us to
be your hands and feet where we are, At the beginning of this new term teach us to
love as you love us At the beginning of this new term teach us to
pray for those in need So that You are honoured and glorified
Amen

Next Friday we celebrate our wonderful grandparents/special friends while we remember the grandparents of Jesus—Saint Joachim and Saint Anne whose feast day is July 25th.
Our day will begin with: 9am Open Classrooms 10am Liturgy in the church 11am Morning tea (hall)
Book Fair in Library—11am—12 midday
As there will be a lot of people on site that day, we ask parents not to attend unless they are needed to assist grandparents—we appreciate your understanding.
All food items can be taken straight to the hall on Fri-day morning before school.
Here is a special prayer for all grandparents ad special friends in our lives:
Dear God, Please bless our grandparents. Thank you for the life they gave my parents and for the life they give to me. For the ways they helped me and made me strong, I give thanks. For the ways they love me no matter what, I rejoice. For the ways they have paved the road that leads me here, I am grateful. Let them grow in wisdom and joy in life. Let them find peace and rest from their work. Let them be healed of every sickness and pain. And let them see with their own eyes the glory of your Son, Jesus, in the love of their children and grandchildren. Bless them always until they come to rest in you. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen SHANE ROBINSON Religious Education Co-ordinator

This year we will be participating in the Woolworths Earn & Learn program. Through this program we will be able to get new
educational resources for our school – and all we need you to do is shop for your groceries at Woolworths.
From Wednesday 15th July to Tuesday 8th September, we are collecting Woolworths Earn & Learn Stickers. You will get one
Woolworths Earn & Learn Sticker for every $10 spent (excluding liquor, tobacco and gift cards). Place the Woolworths Earn

the Collection Box here at the school in the front office.
At the end of the promotion, we’ll be able to get some great new equipment. The range is extensive and offers lots of items

Child Protection
A reminder for parents who are required to ‘UPDATE’ their child protection and for ‘NEW’ parents to the school. It is a Diocesan requirement that parents who volunteer at school must complete the Child Protection Module ONLINE. This training is available online at: http://childprotection.parra.catholic.edu.au/training and MUST be completed every two years. This is the new link as of July 2014. All parents must have completed the above prior to helping in the classroom, on excursions, sport days, tuckshop, uniform shop or any help around the school.
