Sharpening his attack onRSS and Narendra Modi,Rahul Gandhi today accusedthem of trying to usurp thelegacy of Sardar VallabhbhaiPatel and recalled theCongress stalwart's descriptionof RSS as "a venomous organ-isation" which could "finish"the country.

Launching the poll cam-paign of the Congress inHimachal Pradesh from this pic-turesque hill town, Rahul took adig at the BJP Prime Ministerial

candidate, saying it is an ironythat a person who lived all hislife with RSS ideology is nowinstalling Sardar Patel's statueand it appears he has neitherread the history nor the views ofPatel.

The Congress Vice Presidentquoted Sardar Patel’s views onRSS and said that Patel haddescribed the RSS as "a ven-omous organisation which couldfinish the country."

Accusing the BJP of pursu-ing the politics of hatred todivide the people on communal,caste, creed and regional lines,Rahul told the rally at PoliceStadium that BJP talks ofHinduism but acts against thespirit of Bhagwad Gita whichpreached love and brother-hood.(PTI)
