**8th Grade is a high stakes year. Students risk retention if they do not earn Level 2 or higher on the Georgia Milestones Assessments.

What can you do to help your student prepare for these assessments?

Tip

Do not wait until April to get ready!

Have your student spend time each weekend doing a little prep so that he/she does not have to cram.

Math Resources

Science is the BEST!● We will NOT have Milestone testing in 7th Grade

Science. ● However, we will have SPM (Student Progress

Measure) administered through Fayette County. ● All the students took a baseline SPM at the beginning

of the year (August) and that will be compared to the End-of-the-Year SPM (March 20-31).

We are looking at GROWTH in knowledge of standards.

Units that Science SPM will cover:

● Human Body● Genetics● Evolution● Ecology

Blackboard or Google Classroom

Online Resources for Science-aligned to standards

Social Studies ● We will NOT have Milestone testing in 7th Grade Social

Studies. ● However, we will have SPM (Student Progress Measure)
