APIs are amazing

They are the epitome of division of labor

APIs are the driving force that will enable specialised AI

This is going to lead us to fantastic places

There is just one little problem...

in 2020 we will have 25M developers that is 0.31% of 8B

There are not enough developers to make APIs go mainstream

Who else could implement our APIs?

Let me tell you a little secret...

I am not a developer!

I’m a bio-engineer...

My first startup investigated diagnostics for schizophrenia

But today I run a Drupal consultancy

How did that ever happen?

I got sucked into Drupal because of it’s GUI...

GUIs are gateway drugs for IT products

But this is an old trick that MS Windows showed us long ago

And smart people are already working on this

But is that enough?

When you are removed from the user experience

You risk losing control

You should consider having an open source GUI

Not a stand-alone project

But a plugin for an existing ecosystem

Like Drupal for example

We did this for Context.io’s API and won first runner up

Maybe your API already has an integration

That just needs a little maintance love

But what is a Clickaton?

A Clickaton is a hackaton for Clickers

You should do one, because clickers are the mainstream market

and Clickers need our help

Because right now they probably feel like imposters

If embraced, they will do crazy things for your community
